I was unable after many attemptsto get this prgram to work with my windows xp!! It was a major diappointment and I had NO tech support avaiable to me. This vendor did not sent it with the orginal box. It was only the disc with no support number from the place I bought it from and the manufacturer said that they could not help on this product because I had no proof of purchase!!!

Our 3 year old daughter loves this program! she had never used the computers before now. She has been playing it almost daily since Christmas.

This software takes your kids on an adventure where they have to solve math problems of various types to gather information from the local people. It is well thought out and the kids love it because it doesn't feel like drill work for Math skills. There are prompts if you get stuck and lots of encouragement. A must have for your 9-12 year olds!

This is yet another classic by the Carmen Sandiego line. This was the best of them all, and your kids will not stop playing it! It is more educational that I first expected, and has everything from grammar to spelling. A good buy for your money. Sorry, a great buy for your money!

I found this CD Rom worth the buy. Doesn't have tons of games with tons of levels, but has very interesting ways to teach children time, geography, left from right, seasons, and a few other things! Just a great buy and I am all about teaching. Anything that is fun and teaches cant be bad and this was definitely worth the buy. It teaches things you just dont find on other games.

This took a 30-year-old mom and her 13-year-old son approximately 2 1/2 hours to complete. We are extremely proud of ourselves, despite being a bit chagrined at having kicked out the actual 2nd grader for whom it was bought. She lost 30 points from my character, which just could not be allowed. It really is very educational and challenging for the grade level. Aside from the many trap door pitfalls, there are also math and language arts hurdles to jump, swing, or run through. My son and I recommend this game for people of any age to brush up on basic skills, and if my daughter ever gets it out of our clutches and has a chance to play, I'm sure she'll agree.

This has to be one of the hardest Win95 games to get to work under WinXP. I did it on two different systems and had an extra twist on the second system. First, I have not been able to get it to work running the ssgwin32.exe in the installed \Tclwin\ssgwincd directory. Put the CD in the drive and find the ssgwincd.exe in the ssgwincd directory. Right click on this file and select Properties and then the Compatibility tab. At a minimum, check the "Run in 256 colors" and "Run in 640x480 screen resolution" and select OK. I would go ahead and select "Run this program in compatibility mode for Windows 95" for good measure, but at least one of my tests seemed to indicate this is not absolutely necessary. This is a wonderful computer game for a new computer user. I purchased this for my friends 3 yr. old and she just loves it. It keeps her interest for 20 minutes. She can navigate the pages herself. I had originally purchased it years ago for my special needs daughter. It provides great animations to encourage the kids to keep playing.

Hi, I'm StoryMaker. My older sister, Russian Blue Witch, gave me Barbie Explorer (for PC, a.k.a. computer) on Christmas. I started playing it today. OK, I've only started it, so it's a little early to review it...but hey, I love reviewing SO much, I guess I couldn't help it. First of all, I'm not a really big fan of Barbie, but the Barbie movies and computer games are very entertaining! In this game, Barbie finds out about a mysterious treasure known as the Mystic Mirror. According to a map, she must go to the mountainous Tibet, the sandy Egypt, the leafy African Jungle, and the, um, existent Babylon, to find the pieces. (With specific country, continent, etc. names, it's almost educational!) The back of the box says there's 4 levels, but actually, it's more like 4 environments with 4 levels ... Read More
