I think this is the first 5 star review I've ever given. I am so impressed with this product, I believe it may be the best piece of software I've ever used. I started with another program by IMSI that got me through a rough sketch of what I wanted for our new home. Bug after bug and limit after limit got me to give up after a few weeks. This program was highly recommended on Amazon, so I purchased it with moderate hope. Nearly everything was intuitive and easy to do. Most importantly, I have yet to find a bug anywhere. It simply does what I want it to do quickly. Between the two programs (both similar in layout) it took me about a week to get pretty comfortable to do just about anything I wanted. I had one of the original versions of Master Cook (3 1/2 floppy and no spell check). I found out that there were later versions and obtained the latest copy. I was able to upload the recipes to the newer version. A lengthy spell check process was started. As I have time I have entered my recipes into Master Cook. There were several folders and boxes of recipes I had collected. Usually by the time I found the recipe I was looking for, the event had passed. With Master Cook, can do a quick search online and find the recipe.

I have used Family Tree Maker since 1996. I was very disappointed with the 2008 version but I stuck with it because I knew it was an entirely new program and it would take time to find out what all the issues are and make the corrections. I was very glad to find out that they decided to scrap 2008 and were working on the 2009 version. I was a beta tester for 2009 and I was very impressed with how hard the staff worked to correct problems and how they were willing to listen to suggestions. One of the big problems with 2008 was the fact that it constantly crashed. Since I have been working with 2009 crashing hasn't been an issue. I've been using Movie Magic for over 15 years and lemme tell you this is the worst version ever! It's amazing, but they've screwed up so much in this "new & improved" version that it's almost not worth reviewing (let alone buying). Large chunks of what you're writing will suddenly vanish from the screen because of a margin wraparound bug; call tech support and they'll tell you not to worry because it's not really gone - it's just not there on the screen. What? Huh? You also get error messages for no apparent reason that will send you in endless loops of frustration that would make Kafka proud. In short, do yourself a favor: BUY FINAL DRAFT. Loyalty schmoyalty, that's what I'm going to do!

Absolutely MAD Magazine - 50+ Years This was an excellent buy! I am thoroughly enjoying this product and would recommend it to any MAD fan! It's good to catch up and to see the old magazines I remember reading as a child. It was fun to go back down memory lane. Thanks MAD!

I purchased the Version 16 of the Family Tree Maker and was extremely pleased. It loaded without any glitches and captured all the data and notes I had entered in the 1994 version of Family Tree Maker. I could not remove the old version but V16 loaded anyhow and has no conflicts. Its a great program.

I've had a lot of problems trying to install it. It's really the fault of my computer. I can't get it to install NEt 2.1. I've had to install it on my lap top and it seems to work fine there, it's just not where I want it. They have also emailed me and told me it was no longer supported. Since I've only had it a couple of months, I feel this isn't fair. I like the program, it's just not for older systems.
