The program and feature layout in nice, but AutoCad needs to stop publishing software with bugs that effect basic functions. For example, after running for a week or so, trying to use the "File' drop down menu crashed the program! Their website acknowledged this and the 'fix' was to turn off the last file used function (when you click file you see the last XX files opened). Ok, so now it doesn't crash, but you have to go to File/open/and search for the last file you used. Irritating! For 1100 Bucks I would expect more from a company.

Documentation is thin and almost useless. The activation code for the tutorials doen't work. To get any functionality at all, I have had to rely on familiarity with much earlier versions. Apparently IMSI has decided to extract the maximum money by selling training courses.

Re: Mr. Thompson's comment I made a macro to do the transform operation he is referring to. I select the object(s), press the transform macro I created, then hit the first point and second point. Viola! This program is so easy to use. I figured it out in like 2 hours... Of course there were a lot of things I learned as I went along and if you use it every day you get real fast. It is easy to make precision drawings. Adding dimensions is simple. There are a few things that you figure out as you go along that make your life easier. selecting a color and hatch fill are so easy (2 clicks - click fill solid or hatch and the select color) no problem with the border line whatsoever. I have used the Chief Architect Pro program and this is similar. I was very pleased with the "objects" in my design list and the final print out. I found that the camers did not work the same as the other program, but perhaps I just do not have that down yet. The program gave me everything I had on the Chief Architect, but at a much better price point.

I am very pleased with the product which was delivered in a timely manner (and with extra secure "signed" receipt because of the cost). As I only need 2D CAD there was no need to buy a full AutoCAD and this is doing all that I need-I'm VERY pleased -especially with the full Autodesk support that was included. It also accepted most of the "add-on" software that I had used with AutoCAD 2002.

This software is extremely difficult to figure out. It is not user friendly to the average homeowner. You need lessons on CAD to figure this out. It is horrible.

If you enjoy suffering this is the home design software for you. You can get it to produce something eventually, but you will put in hours trying to get the software to do what you want and have to give up on getting it do other things it says it does. I initially purchased Version 9 and nearly tore my hair out trying to do layout for a house remodeling we were working on. I'm in the computer business so I'm used to battling with bad software to get it to work and wasn't going to let this package get the best of me. I did finally get some useful floorplans out of it. The 3D modeling was helpful although certainly not as good as they say it is.
