Great laptop GPS software when traveling. It has a good data base for finding campgrounds, food stores, places of interest and the list goes on. Just like any other GPS and routing software your have to review your information to your liking. You must make the final decision.

We used Autoroute in Amsterdam for 3 days. Using the Microsoft GPS Antenna supplied with Streets and Trips 2008. AutoRoute Europe was the worst package I have ever worked with and was continuously slow to warn about turns and frequently planned turns the wrong way on one way streets. It was enough to convince me to by a TomTom GPS for the car and what a difference. The TomTom is an excellent product and will certainly leave you much less frustrated.

This product is great. I hardly ever lose and signal when using this product. It must be used outside so its perfect when driving in a car, Have it navigate your directions for you. It even has a trip planner. Best thing about it no monthly fees!

A most versatile product for handheld use. I have navigation in my car and a low cost Garmin nuvi I use for driving when using rentals, but for all other uses this unit is substantially more complex in capabilities and benefits. Excellent screen fully visible in full sunlight. Also, the unit will use SDHC cards up to 32 GB. I confirmed this with Delorme customer support before trying it.

I am very happy with this software except for one major sticking point. The maps are very out of date. If you are going to any new areas that were constructed in the last 4 years, forget it. and - no updates.

All I want is a political map of the world with a group of 60 countries on it shaded. There is little control over shades -- I have a choice of sixteen colors for my group of shaded countries. That's it -- and oddly, none of them are colors I would willingly choose. The map is labeled not only by country names but also by certain states in the United States. There is no way to turn off this labeling. For my simple purposes, this program is unusable.

I use this software mainly to calculate mileage & gas cost while on the computer. Ill switch to a portable GPS unit on the road.

MapPont is an excellent mapping software. Finds locations accurately and has a built in link to MapPoint's website that provides aerial views of the location. The only flaw that I have discover in the software is that MapPoint does not allow you to export the locations (points) with simple geographic data attached, such as latitude and longitude coordinates, census tracts, and zip codes. You can view this information on the screen, but when you export the points, the information is not. You are, however able to write your own programs (if you posses computer programming skills) and use the program as a plug-in to export the information, but this is not a simple task if you don't posses the required skill. I really like this product. It works very well with my Holux GPSlim 236 GPS device via bluetooth to my laptop. It speaks the names of the steet names and automatically recalculates the route if you miss a turn.

Microsoft Street & Trips 2008 GPS with Connected Services It would be extremely helpful if the spoken directions also included the street name as displayed in the written directions. Some other GPS software already includes this feature. Otherwise the software worked as promised. We are very pleased with the product.
