It's very well built monopod I was told it was built like a minitank and it is it feels solid and the head that comes with it is ok but not optimal at least to me is not. It would work better if you had the quick release head in my opinion so if I could do it again I would buy this monopod separate and the Quick release head later

The case is fine, but the full sized tripod is flimsy. I purchased three for a field project and one broke on first use. Super glue fixed it. Overall, I am OK having made this purchase because the overall cost was reasonable. If you want something that's rugged, however, I'd stay away from this product.

Not much to say, other than my only regret was not buying it sooner. Highly recommend it with the tilt head. Outside of a polarizing filter (most of my photography is done outside) this is the most useful and indispensable accessory one can have. I use the same tilt head that I bought >10 years ago and used on another monopod with a film SLR. The combo is fantastic coupled with the shake reduction of my Pentax K10D DSLR. Far easier to use than the old monopod. I have it with me just about every place I go with my camera. One "new" way I used it recently was to extend and hold the camera overhead while tripping the shutter release remotely by wired remote. As a beginning photographer I wanted a smallish, lightweight tripod to use with my Nikon D80. Since this is merely a hobby and good, lightweight tripods are very expensive I was torn what to do (the camera and a really good lens were already pretty expensive). Fortunately I happened across this tripod and decided I would spend a little more (ok, twice as much) than I had intended. Frankly it was well worth it. I got this for a Slik Professional Universal Deluxe Tripod with 3-Way Panhead and Panoramic Photo Guide; could have got the smaller model but didn't want to risk it. This looks really slick, all walls are heavily padded, there's a small compartment inside secured with velcro, a good sized external compartment with a zipper for random accessories and a small "window" to put your card or tag in. There's double stitching throughout and a few rivets - very professional. All that is lacking is for the tripod to go "mmmh -cozy!". There's still plenty of room for other random photography paraphernalia besides the tripod, such as a Canon Monopod 100 for SLR Cameras & Lenses, and a FM Photography McClamp, 26" Long Flexible Articulated Arm with Micro Clamp and 2" Clamp #3302.

For a few more dollars, Amazon also sells the Bogen 484RC2 tripod head that includes a quick-release plate. If you use your tripod a lot, the quick-release feature is very convenient. Bogen-Manfrotto 484RC2 Mini Ball Head with RC2 Rapid Connect Plate (3157N)

I bought this specifically because I had a safari to Zimbabwe planned and had a stroke in April. I needed something to "steady" my camera as I could no longer hold it still. I wanted the "lightest" monopod available. I put this in my luggage and it was stolen by the TSA between California and Atlanta. How do I know it was the TSA? Because they cut the lock off my luggage, and placed a postcard in it, saying that they had "examined" my luggage. They did more than examine it - they took it for a "long term test". I had my receipt from Amazon (it was a two weeks old at the time) and so far they have refused to pay my claim. Rather expensive for 2 weeks use - but it worked flawlessly for it's intention.
