The dome is excessively large and cumbersome compared to the camera. The power cable and adapter that came with it largely make the 110V power useless. considering that the main reason to purchase the dome is to mount the camera outside it would have been more reasonable to have the adapter built into the actual dome itself and then wire it up with the correct power cable direct from the mains. Instead they opted for a standard household adapter with a plug. I'm very disappointed with the quality and design of this product, not up to the usual standard from Dlink. For the price I would be better buying a new camera designed specifically for outdoor use. Don't buy this product you will regret it.

Picture quality, construction quality, Night Vision, and Field of Vision are all a letdown and I returned it right away. For the price, I suppose this is still a good "deal", but if you want an excellent quality Dome Camera with decent Night Vision, superb build quality, and a wide angle view look at the unit labeled "vandal proof dome camera", also from Amazon. It is more expensive, but has a VERY hefty and sturdy feel to it. Range of IR is greater and MUCH less granulated, resolution in daytime is fantastic, and one unit in the corner of a square room or backyard can cover nearly everything. There's no other DVR of it's type that I could find. I have it in my glove box wired to a forward seeing sony lipstick cam and microphone for insurance reasons. I set this thing to record at full frames full fps and to always record when powered. So it only records when I have the key in the ignition and save about 3 hours worth on a 2GB card. Hasn't failed me yet.

I have several of these Camera's setup and have used other cheaper wirless camera's. It is worth the extra money to go with a quality camera which doesn't lockup and continues to operate. I am very satisfied with Axis, I only with there security software would run on a mac. I have 5 of these in my house, mainly as a nanny camera. I am very happy all the way, very configurable and the wireless is amazingly reliable. I was very skeptical at first, now I would recommend any Axis camera's to anyone who needs them.

I am purchasing another one of these as i write this. The simple statement of " works as advertised " doesn't begin to cover this product. As the owner of numerous Panasonic and Sony cameras, this one is certainly worth the price. Another customer wrote about the appearance of the unit alone as a deterrent to would-be crooks and bad guys is true. This camera will certainly get peoples attention, so if you are concerned about irritating your neighbors, i would place it in an less noticeable location ! The camera's are very clear regardless of the time of day. The infrared is great except when activated little red dots appear around the lens of the camera which are visible. I have the receiver upstairs in my town house and there is no problem with the reception on a downstairs camera which i have put on the balcony. WOuld definetly recommend.
