This camera is fantastic! I had the Canon Digital Rebel XT before and really enjoyed the functionality and ease of use. However, this new Rebel takes the line to whole new levels! It is very easy to access the controls and shoot manually, the auto-focus is better than before, the picture can be blown up to (roughly) poster size without losing quality, the new battery lasts longer, and the new memory card format allows for faster usage. Oh yeah, and if you take photos outside alot like I do, the auto dust cleaning sensor is a godsend. No dots on the photos!

I researched and compared cameras for a couple of months before deciding on this one. I also have a Sony Cypershot 15Xzoom DSC-H7. We bought a Nikon Coolpix L18 for our son, which I would NOT recommend. To me Sony's are the best! My little red Cypershot is GREAT! To this day, I still haven't sat down and looked at the manuel, but it's so easy to use, takes great pictures and it fits in my pocket or purse. I'm sure once I really check out what all the features of this camera, I'll find it even better! Thanks!

This camera has great features and great value. Except: 1. The camera failed after 4 months--and wouldn't turn on. 2. The camera has a problem focusing when you're fully zoomed in 3. The control wheel at the top is poorly designed so that it gets moved and out of place all the time 4. The warranty that Panasonic extends is criminally short: 90 days! 5. The screen sticks out from the camera making it vulnerable to breakage and making it highly susceptible to glare. Otherwise it's a great value for the money!

The on-screen descriptions of each mode make it easy for a digital camera novice to explore the functions and features available. It functions reliably and takes great pictures, though it is a bit slow to recover after taking a flash shot. During the lag, the most recent picture taken is displayed. This isn't a problem for someone learning the device, but could be aggravating for a more experienced user. The price was good, the camera's good; overall, we're very pleased with our purchase.

I read many reviews on amazon before purchasing this camera and its one of the best purchases I've ever made. I know very little about cameras but have learned a fair amount just reading about the functionality this camera offers. My wife and I went on a safari and peopled raved about our pictures. You will not be disappointed with this camera.

This is a great camera. It does so much. Most people who write reviews for say, cameras, haven't taken the time to read the manuel. This camera does everything it promises and more. The only draw back at all is in the movie mode you can't zoom in and out while your filming.

i have throughly tested this camera,i brought it in to a jungle and stomped around with it for a month. took it in the ocean down to 15 ft droped it couple times but it kep on going. the pictures come ouit good and so does the video its a fast and easy camera to learn. down sides are the zoom is terrible. but they offer decent costomer support and they back up there warrentes. for 300$ its 10 megapixls and a video recorder with water capabilities. they have lots of great accessories for it to so if you wanna go deep or not have to worrie at all about ur camera then u put out 120+$ and you got a waterhousing. good buy for first timers and adventures.

This camera was a delightful surprise. It is small and easy to use, yet takes beautiful pictures. I am especially pleased with: 1) Uncanny flash performance - the flash looks like a joke, it is so tiny, but it really does the job. Closeups without being washed out, surprising distance range as well. 2) Battery life - also uncanny. You can shoot hundreds and hundreds of shots without depleating the battery. Fringe benefit of buying a camera from a leader in battery technology. (I bought spares but don't expect to ever need them). 3) Gorgeous LCD - best in the business, viewable in any light. 4) Virtual film types - there are several effects to choose from.
