This camera records long, red bars on your movies if you are shooting outside. It isn't just my model; every Panasonic Lumix FS3 comes with a yellow paper in its box explaining that this happens. The red bar doesn't show up in pictures (though you can see it on the LCD screen) but it shows up in every movie you record in the sun. As soon as I read the warning, I took my camera outside and shot a few seconds of video in the sun. Sure enough, there was an ugly red bar in the video. My question is, why doesn't Amazon let their customers know about this problem? Panasonic tells you right off the bat when you open the box but it would have been nice to have been warned BEFORE I bought it. Now I have to send it back and wait for a refund. Panasonic Lumix DMC-LZ10K 10MP Digital Camera with 5x Wide Angle MEGA Optical Image Stabilized Zoom (Black) I have only had this camera for a few days but it has exceeded all expectations. Before this my favorite still camera was another Panasonic, the 8 Meg but this one is a third the size is 10 Mp and has all of the features of the bigger camera. With the Panasonic HD video camera you can carry High quality camera gear that used to require a wheeled cart in your pockets. Read the tech reviews for the details but give this camera a lot of thought. I find no downside to it at all.

I poured over review after review of tons of different digital cameras before going with this one. I chose this for a few reasons: The bright orange color, the anti-shake feature, the face recognition feature and the fact that it had a lot of good reviews. It was on the cheaper side of the digital cameras that I had looked at but after using it I realized that quality didn't reflect the price! This little camera is by far the best point and shoot I have ever used. I even like it better than my SLR digital (Although mine isn't a good one like Canon). I sell this, among other cameras at a retail store. So I knew what I wanted and liked before I purchased this. Canon is pretty much the best, but it lacks a couple of things I wanted, that this camera has, such as a non-telescoping lens, and a dedicated movie button. The menu system is nice, and relatively easy to navigate, but does kick you out once you make a selection, which can get annoying, especially when first setting it up. The only really big downside for me is the fact that the zoom button isn't by the shutter. Since it is on the backside of the camera with the screen, it is hard to use one handed. Overall, the pros outweighed the cons. This isnt the absolute best camera, but for the price, its great, which is why I gave it four, instead of five stars.

We go snorkeling on vacation just about every year and I was sick of the underwater film cameras and wanted to go digital this year. We could not find a housing for our little Canon so my husband got me this for my birthday and overall we are really pleased with the job it did for the money spent! I LOVE being able to auto-correct the pictures in Photoshop. I always hated that with film pics you were stuck with whatever you got printed. This is awesome to be able to snap away and then edit them. I also love that I can upload them into our online albums along with all of our other pics. Bought this for Christmas and have been very pleased since. Simple functionality for taking pictures. Takes clear decent pictures with very few shaky images. The best part is the low usage on batteries (use rechargable). Had a Panasonic that sucked batteries dry before. In the end, this camera is perfect for quick picts.

Read the other reviews for info about image quality and such. I am very satisfied with the photos that I have taken with my camera and I especially like the built in panorama mode which allows you to take a series of shots and stitch them together to create a panorama. However, I have had my camera for a little over a year and it has broken 4 times - 3 times the lens would not retract and once the lcd screen cracked. I have an extended warranty that covered all of these problems but each time it breaks, I have another 4 weeks without a camera because I have to ship it off.
