Great item for its value. Very clear hd performance!' definitely recommanded, however the only downside is when you recorded a video, the playback volume is quite small. However, this can be fixed if you view it on a TV or your computer. This light weight cam worked well for me as I bring it where ever I go.

I am rating this a 2 only because you HAVE TO use the lousy software that comes with it.I would like to say that J. Henry said all that was going through my head. I don't have the patience for this...if I could just convince my hubby to try the comparable Sony we were looking at....it just didn't seem to be as user friendly....that might be something I can learn to deal with and overcome! Great Camera, lousy software and no way around it!

Really great camcorder for the price. Good vid quality, nightshot for low light. Has a nifty time-lapse mode that can let an entire day pass in a few minutes. The only real down side, IMO, is the lack of a mic input jack.

Its specs have been exhaustively reviewed here already, so I won't go into all of that. You take it out of the box, turn it on, press the record button. To upload, you connect the onbooard usb to your computer, the onboard sw starts up and then you click on whatever video you want to upload to YouTube, PhotoBucket, or Box.net without fuss and not much thinking. This device sits between a bonafide camcorder/camera and phone camera/camcorder. It's small and light like a phone cam but delivers much better video then any phone cam I own. I did a lot of research to purchase a camera for a family vacation . I originally was convinced I needed a High def camcorder . Once I read how difficult it was to use the AVCHD format, I quickly convinced myself to stick with the proven platform of MPEG-2 . I went for hard drive over the canon mini Dv for ease of use and no tapes needed. So far, the camera has been extremely easy to use and download videoas to my computer. Still pictures are decent but not stellar. Easy to charge and review images/videos on the touch screen . I can't imagine why you would need more for family type videos.

Book of directions that comes with the camera/camcorder is fairly good and describe the options for focusing and aperature and other features. I learned to use the camera within a few days. The software for downloading images to the computer is self explanatory. Having that range for the zoom is wonderful. The resolution is not as high as a regular digital camera but the pictures are nice quality anyway.

This camera is light, small, very intuitive and easy to maneuver. I chose the Canon DC330 over the DC310 because this model has the USB connection. I like recording on DVDs because I need to backup my computer anyway. Sound quality is very clear.

I purchased this camera because I have a JVC camcorder and for my current needs size and weight are issues. Picture quality is certainly better than tape seems easy to navigate the menu's once you use it for a little while. My two complaints are: the minor one is that unlike my other JVC I can't embed the date in the movie which I find useful to date images. The second and most annoying is that when you back up to PC to save or move files to a movie editing program it doesn't save them in the order they were taken. The event files are out of sequence and according to JVC customer service they are listed by files size. So to get around this I have to look at each file individually at date and time, rename it so I can get it back into the sequential order I made the movies in. I bought this camera to video my grandson as he is doing little things during the day. I really like the quality of this camera. Video quality is great, and sound quality is great. It picked up conversation from across the room. I Like the way you can also add more memory to this camera and not have to hook up the camera to you computer to download the videos. Software that comes with it is also good quality.
