This is a good prime lens for daily indoor use. Pros: - Fast at f/1.8 although soft - Reasonably sharp from f/2.0, gets better from f/2.2 - Rugged - Good 'normal' lens for APS-C sensor with 1.6 multiplier (mine is the 450d) Cons: - Very soft at f/1.8 - My copy has a front-focus problem at times Overall, happy with the lens since I can take available light pictures indoors where my 50mm f/1.4 prime (must have!) is too narrow. I can see the front-focus issue on some shots when compared to my 24-105mm f/4L in a reasonably contolled test. Also, from shot to shot taken indoors, the focus is slightly off at times. On a second test indoors, the focus was spot on.

Video quality is awesome in daylight. It is not that good in low light conditions, but 1- it is quite normal, 2- you cannot expect such a compact cam to behave like a $10,000 one. One thing I dislike is that you cannot have 2 different image ratio settings for pictures and videos at the same time. Meaning once you switch to 16/9 you also shoot pictures in this mode.

I warn you with the utmost sincerity that this machine will give you ulcers. The only aspect of this machine to function as it should is the scanner, however, even that will be compromised, as detailed below. What goes wrong: * Everything; * Faxing: it will drag multiple pages through at a time, forcing you to resend the document dozens of times before it will (maybe) be transmitted. * Everything else; * Even if the machine that we own is a fluke, a lemon, still the programmed functioning of this piece is ludicrous. We have had several of the correct CANON ink tanks that the machine will not recognize, forcing us to contact Canon and beg them to send a new one, dodging insinuated accusations of dishonesty (it seems that they are used to this complaint; Google it). ... For up to letter-size copies, this little Canon machine works really well. The price is right, and it makes clean, "high-resolution" (I think that's the marketing term) copies. The starter toner doesn't last long, so you should definitely pick up a real toner cartridge. Luckily, many good generic cartridges are available for Canon copiers. The PC170 is compact and starts up instantly. There's no waiting for warm-up! Just turn it on and press the green copy button. It's no speed horse, but for SOHO needs, it should suffice. I've owned this for two years and have been very satisfied. The reliability seems topnotch, too.

wow - what a great camera. The features that I wanted was EASY to operate, point and shoot camera. That is exactly what I got. Just a great camera that fits in your hand, slides in a purse to go anywhere and be ready at all times to take great pic's of kids. It does use AA battaries but with 4 kids I keep a lot of those on hand. Also, I have been told that if I would use the lithium AA they would last longer. Really easy to put pic's on my computer and share them. I really like this camera!!

The 560 worked great through the first set of batteries. Then, the problems started. New batteries would only work for a short time, and then the low battery light would come on. I tried various brands, including rechargeable batteries, but the problem persisted. Finally, I searched online and found MANY other people with this series having the same problem. Buyer beware! You may not have this problem, but there are a lot of us out there that are stuck with an expensive paperweight.

This is the kind of item that makes me feel very positive toward Amazon. I initially went on site to purchase a GENUINE Canon NB-2LH battery. With this starter kit priced at just $12 more than a battery alone on Amazon (or about an equal-to price at some other reputable, dependable eStores) and free shipping, I was really skeptical that I would find a GENUINE Canon NB-2LH battery in the kit--I did. The 200DG bag is fantastic and will replace the Canon 200EG backpack I originally purchased for approximately $60 (more than this starter kit.) I haven't looked at the lens filter as I did not need it. Canon PowerShot A560 7.1MP Digital Camera with 4x Optical Zoom ( I think this is the one) I returned it as I didn't like it at all. It seems very cheaply made and had AA Batteries, which I also didn't like.
