I ordered this for my daughter and ended up returning it because it was a little too complicated for my 11 year old. i did try it out before sending it back. i recorded from my dish dvr right to the device and it was perfect. i would recommend this product to anyone who needs to take tv with them, like on lunch breaks, trips, etc. how much it holds depends on the size of the memory card you put in it. i read though the reviews and go alot of info from people who are already using it. so read the rest of the reviews, they are very helpful. thats how i learned how to hook it up to my dish dvr.

I had this camera with me in a trip to California and it was great. Very good battery life, great colors. Overall very satisfied with it.

Good video is not that easy to capture with this camera. If one uses a tripod all the time then the clips will be acceptable. Once you try to capture holding the camera the slightest movement results in some distortion. I have had to edit most clips to cut out disorted parts. Lighting also is a problem at times resuling in poor color. If one thinks they are going to take the camera right out of the box and take professional quality video you are going to be most disappointed. With practice one can improve quality. The size of the camera makes it most difficult to stablize the camera for taking clear and sharp pictures. Personally I feel these small video cameras are not worth the price.

I purchased this camcorder for my boyfriend's birthday (May 2008). I loved it so much I went out and bought myself one. The picture quality is amazing for the price. I am very impressed. It is not a low-light (no light) camera. You need moderate lighting to see your subject when shooting indoors or at night. Keep in mind - this is not a professional quality camcorder. If you are looking for a professional camcorder this is not the product for you. The vdr-d100 model does not come with software (the vdr-d200 does come with software) I purchased the software seperately. It is a HUGE hassel to import the video to the computer and then to burn a DVD. I do digital editing with pictures and video so I am pretty good on the computer and I have such a difficult time getting the video imported. The picture quality is good and the camera is easy to use but I would not purchase this camera again.

Worst buy I ever made, here are some of the problems: -Cannot open disk to remove easily, takes a few minutes, sometimes does not open at all. -Constant issues with "formatting disks" -Off button is not locked and often moves to "on" while transporting, when you take it out for use, battery is dead. -After capturing images, unable to play back due to "corrupted disks" even after disks have played fine many times previously. Don't waste your time with this item.

I got this little gem for $100 from my local Walmart. I'd tried a few other camera previously and this one so far seems to have the best price/performance ratio. Good: Size - This thing is TINY! I brought it on vacation with me and had it in my pocket pretty much the entire time. It's very easy to walk around with it laced around your arm as well. Battery Life - I'd say it could last a good 1.5-2 hours on a full charge, which is much more than some other cameras I've tried. Video - Quite nice in daylight. Watching at full res show's it's not quite capturing all the detail, but it looks very nice for casual recording and burning as a DVD video. Low light performance isn't too bad either, though there's a fair amount of grain and lines from the CMOS. Read More
