Hello, I have owned the Sony T100 and T300 (10.1MP) and was never happy with the image quality of either. I purchased and then gave this T500 away, because I was not happy with the larger size and the image quality of both indoor and outdoor images. Images which seem to be, less impressive than the 8MP T100 I had. I use Sony Vaio notebooks and love most Sony products, but Sony digital cameras, just don't perform well, compared to Canon. Sony always wins, when it comes to the style and looks, of their camera's (compact cameras) but the same can't be said, when it comes to the look of Sony images. Let me start off by saying congrats to Sanyo on this one. I have owned many Sanyo cameras. This one really does perform better than I thought it would. I have had a Sanyo HD700 and was never really happy with the pics or video from it. Also the focus was really slow. I also have a Sanyo HD1000 and no it is not better than that but the focus is much quicker on this Sanyo E2. The Sanyo E2 is also water proof to 5foot and is much smaller than the HD1000. I was very impresseed by the pictures from the E2 they look just as good as my 800.00 Hd1000. The video from the E2 is also very good in low light. I did have to manually set the ISO to 400 to get good video at low light levels without grain showing up. This camera is a very good performer over all and very impressive. Nikon Coolpix S610 10MP Digital Camera with 4x Optical Vibration Reduction (VR) Zoom (Deep Red) Just upgraded from the Coolpix 3100 3mp. Took this on a recent trip and the camera worked wonderfully. I was nervous about a rechargeable battery, but that lasted a little longer than it states. The camera is very fast from picture to picture and goes quickly from playback to shooting with a touch of the button. 10mp takes a very nice picture. A very nice point and shoot. The only unperfect thing is the night shooting mode. You have to hold the camera perfectly still or the shot is blurry. A gorillapod takes care of that for those outside night-time shots. It's worth the extra 2 seconds.

The write on screen is perfect for enhancing Native American rock art pictures on site. Often very faded rock art turns out to be a picture of a rock unless you are on site and can see the faint outlines which you can then mark on the picture. Bet they didn't think of this use! NOw how about a bigger lcd?

I just got this camera this week and I love it. Pros: The screen is quite viewable in bright sunlight. Dual memory support gives you a choice on which media to buy. (I'm using a Class 6 4GB micro SDHC card). 5x optical zoom (the largest I've seen in this size and price range.) The iAuto is pretty smart. The camera is easy to figure out and use. Cons: I'd like to turn off the image preview that comes up right after you take a picture. The "Smile shot" is cool, but I haven't been able to figure it out completely (I'm going to keep trying) Conclusion: I don't regret getting this camera.
