Just bought the camera on black Friday, so haven't had much time to use it. Takes good quality pictures as long as there is ample light. You have to play around with the settings to get it to take decent low light pictures.

Nice camera for the price. I like the auto smile feature. Lightweight and easy to use. Able to recover photos after they have been deleted. Would recommend this camera. I bought 2 of them. A pink one for my daughter and a blue one for my son. They both enjoy using these cameras.

This is the best lens you get for the money. I can't believe how great and easy it is to use. I used it to take pictures of my son playing soccer and I could zoom him right up and get close up's that I could not have gotten with a regular lens. Love this lens.................. C. Kemp

Has incredible features for small camera. Took a while to learn most of features but very easy to use (touch screen) Wife loves it. Thin, fits in handbag nicely. good zoom range, clear well exposed pictures

Purchased this from Amazon almost a month ago. I used it and compared it to a Nikon 5200 and Canon A610, both of which were 5 megapixel. What is shocking is the low quality of the pictures, which on close examination turn out to contain a high amount of digital noise and other signs of poor image processing. The Nikon has noisy images, but the Sony is noticeably worse than even that. The Canon is phenomenal in that area, with no digital noise and excellent shading in dark areas. The poor picture quality persisted even after setting the Sony's resolution to 5 megapixels (along with other parameters) to match the other cameras. I love this camera! However, after owning it for three months, it no longer works. Amazon.com was not at all helpful in this process. I had to send it back to Canon for repair, which will take 3 weeks or more. I am disapointed with the quality of the product, but when it was working, it did work fine.

I recommend this lens. I have been using it for few months now and I am very satisfied with it. It's heavy if you want to cary it the whole day in a long walk. It's very sharp up to 200mm and sharp enough at 300mm. I can't always blame the lense as I shoot very far objects and the haze make the picture look not so sharp (I haven't used UV filters with it yet; they are still on the way to be delivered). Buy this lense now if you really need it or wait for the AF-S version of 80-400mm VR if you can wait maybe few months or maybe a year (or even more - just an estimation about its release in 2009/2010 but it will be at least 3 times the price of this one). If your budget is around few hundred bucks, trust me, this lens is the one if you need telephoto ranges on a DX body!

I got this camera for 2 features, the panoramic shots, and the underwater ability. Both of which are fantastic! That's about all I have good to say about this camera. Cons: - I have a difficult time taking non-blurry photos. Even with a tripod. - The lag between the shutter button and the actual picture being taken is ridiculous. Sometimes the camera doesn't want to take the picture at all and requires 3-4 "hold the button down, wait 4-5 seconds for the camera to focus, press the button, nothing. try again" - Forget action shots. Even on the "Action" setting. - There are numerous setting on the camera, and sometimes the camera will randomly change the setting on you, mid shot, for no reason. - The battery life is about 3hours..which sucks. This is a great camera for someone wanting to get started in professional digital SLR photography. It's going to be a great backup camera for us as well, it does decent in low light and not much issue with noise, though 3200ISO is pretty much unusable due to the high noise, but 1600ISO is quite acceptable if you have to get the shot. Great price now too and well worth it. Though I don't understand why people buy these cameras thinking they'll do better than a point and shoot if they're never going to take it out of Auto mode, and never going to by an external flash. If you plan on using this camera like a point and shoot consider getting the G10 instead, as it's an awesome little pocket camera and does right for the job! :)

I bought this camera about 15 days back. I have used it a couple of times indoors, outdoors and indoors with low-light conditions. Used correctly, this camera does a great job of taking good quality images. I had to play with the camera for about 15-20 mins to get familiar with it so I could take the best pictures possible. My sister owned a Powershot A530 before this one and i had the same experience with that too. This camera fits nicely in your jeans pocket and is quite light. You will need a tripod to take good low-light shots. I have a cat and a rabbit and a 3 yr old nephew - The kids and pets setting really works well to take pictures of them.
