Bought this camera for trip to Mexico in July, love to snorkel so instead of throw away invested in this camera. I left my Canon rebel digital at home figuring I could use the Sealife sea or land. NUMBER 1 big problem there is no viewfinder and a majority of the time the LCD panel was one huge rainbow like an oil slick on water. You could not see image or even the choices to change modes, flash, battery life etc. Anything that comes up on that LCD was not visible. I was shooting blind most of the time. Okay on wide open beach to point and shoot you know you will get some of the scenery in the picture. Also the zoom really blurs the picture, you are better off not using it. My entirely truthful review has been taken down, so let's try again. I returned this camera without having shot a single image or video due to GE getting the specs wrong on their website and dropping the ball on the geotagging feature. Originally, GE listed that it would shoot 720p 30fps (NTSC), but it is actually limited to 25fps. I have been informed that the site has corrected this now. GE lists a GPS option on their site for this model. There should be a Rakon GPS radio chip inside that uses Geotate software. It may have the chip, but no info is in the manual - nothing! I emailed Geotate and have received no response. The camera is larger than the listed dimensions.

If you already have Nikon lenses and want a full-frame DSLR, but you aren't ready to drop almost $5k on a D3, then this is the camera for you. I have been using a D200, which now becomes my reserve, and the transition to the D700 was seamless. It feels the same except that it has a fuller viewfinder and a much nicer LCD. The results so far are indistinguishable, but only because I have not had access to a printer that can do these images justice. There is no physical reason why I did not give the D700 five stars--only its price. You need to think hard as to whether it is worth the premium over the D300 or even the still-available 200. Since every single lens I own is full-frame, it was to me. Now the images from the 10 MM end of the range on my Sigma short zoom will be REALLY wide-angle. And ... Read More

I would recommend this camera. The record button is a little too small, but other than that it's a nice little camcorder.

After going through two very different lenses, I found this one to fit my style of photography. I wanted a lens that could take very good close-up pictures as well as everyday photos. I'm still an amateur but the lens is really easy to use and gives a good wide shot view. I think I'll be using this one from now on until I decide on something new. Overall, good lens.
