I did a lot of cross-shopping, asking of friends, reading articles, etc., and I've owned a lot of digital cameras. In short, the lens is great, the picture quality is fantastic (both in resolution (10MP) and the actual image quality itself, due to the lens, processing, etc.) The video mode is very, very good (the best I've found in digital cameras even in the $700 range) especially when you shoot in HD resolution (1280x720, which is 720p HD). My friends are blown away by the video quality. Fast startup speed, great layout, very very long battery life. Nothing but good things to say about this camera.

I just needed a camera for fun..and I have had a Canon before. I didn't like that my old one had a rechargeable battery that didn't last long so I am really happy to find one like my old one that is a million times better in quality and it takes real batteries that LAST!! I LOVE IT!! Takes great pictures and it's super easy to use...comparing it to my old one (which was an Elph), it takes much faster pictures although you do have to hold the shutter button down to take a picture which is annoying to have to tell other people using it. Overall I highly reccommend it..takes great pictures!!!

This replaced my Olympus Stylus 710 that was dropped 1 too many times in the 2.5 years I owned it. During those 2.5 years it had traveled all over North American and to 3 other continents and served me very well. Very small, very easy to use, tons of features and settings yet easy to just point and shoot (which is largely how I use it). The benefits of the Stylus 840 over the older camera are more optical zoom, larger lcd, and more megapixels (though for my purposes, ~6 MP is more than enough; picts with this at the highest setting are close to 2MB). A very nice lens, works great!! I'm very happy with the images I've taken with it so far. Lens and K10D together are a little bit bulky, but definitely not unreasonable considering the range of focal lengths and image quality I can get out of this lens.

I really like the selection of the colors and the camera itself is very easy to use. One thing I didn't realize until purchasing this camera was the memory card needed for. This camera has to have a XD card and it's not SD card that most camera uses. If you own SD card already and not planning to purchase another kind, this camera might not be the right choice but even if buying a new card, price is still be very attractive.

Just got my 610c and it's good, not great. Things I like: - WiFi feature is pretty cool. Not exactly sure how much I'll use it but it's nice to be able to share pictures and have online backup on an extended trip, provided you can find a compatible hotspot. - Picture quality is good. I've been a Canon user for years and I think the Canon Digic processor produces better pictures, but the Nikon is very good. - Fast start up time - Decent battery life, even with WiFi (plus some smart power features like wifi upload when you plug it in) - Nice, large LCD viewfinder - Good, intuitive UI - Smile mode works well Things I don't like: - The shutterspeed seems slow, especially in red-eye mode. This camcorder has couple good thing like size and can't think any other so far... Cons.: Antishake doesn't work and I believe is because the small size of the apparatus. Lotz of flare when object is bright and WORST for me is the HORRENDOUS and DISTURBING sound from the autofocus (chasing object) that you will hear in your movie so you better go for manual focus, "visual noise" if cam is set at 400 and more ISO.... you need to buy a software to edit your movie (about $60).I'm not a PRO but lack of quality electronics disgust me. Overall this cam is over priced, with SANYO brand I was expecting better performance. It's just OK to capture some moments but just that.

I reviewed lots of options, and ultimately it came down to the Lumix DMC-FX35D or the Fuji f100fd. Both are highly rated in low light, but I liked the wider angle from the Lumix. The camera performs flawlessly and does an excellent job in low light.

Before I purchased this camera I had read lots of reviews on other DSLR cameras in the $500 price bracket. On the day of purchasing the A200 I had actually chosen the Pentax K200D as the reviews for that camera were slightly more positive. However if you're like me then you'll want the biggest bang for your buck and since Amazon is selling the A200 with both the kit 70mm lens and the 300mm lens for only $549 this to me was absolutely the best offer. First of all the build on this camera is pretty solid. Some reviews said it was too plasticky but I think it's a pretty solid unit. The kits lens don't have that nice solid, rubbery grip like more expensive lenses but for starting out they are absolutely fine.
