I have used this camera for about two weeks daily now for work. I hate every second I spend behind this piece of junk. It will over-expose and blowout almost every photo you take unless it's not sunny outside and then you get blurry photos from the slower shutter speed. Also, don't even get me started on the terrible auto-focus system. The focus bracket is in the center of the image, but don't think that's where it will focus all of the time. It would regularly focus on something in the background or foreground and I would have no idea because the bracket stays in the center. The macro mode is terrible as well, it says it will focus up to 5" (which is weak in its own right), but I couldn't get it to focus sometimes as far away as 10-12" on some photos. This review is geared toward complete newbies (such as myself) who are coming from the point-and-shoot world. I purchased this camera due to a budget constraint and after reading numerous reviews. For what you features you get, you simply cannot beat the price for an entry level DSLR camera. You may have looked at the XSI (as I have) and have been tempted to put forth the extra $100 or so to get that one. I was very disppointed with the camera. The first picture I took at Thanksgiving was fine. When I tried to take a second picture, the camera froze on me. I had to repeatedly remove the battery to re-set the camera to take pictures. I plan on returning the camera.

I have 3 kids & for each ones 5th birthday, they wanted a camera. I ended up getting 3 versions of this Easyshare & all have past my expectations for such a thing. It's cheap, it has better quality than a "real" kids camera (Fisher Price), & they're holding up well! Our oldest one is 4 yrs. old & is still as good as new even though it's been played with by all three of my children. And, as they were bought for my kids, they've taken quite a bit of abuse as well & they all worked perfectly. I'd recommend this camera for anyone who wants to get a kid started in the world of photography. I gave it 4 stars because indoor pics can tend to be rather grainy, but what do you expect for $80? I got the Fuji film Z20fd so I don't have to carry my slr every where I go some times you just want a photo wean you hanging out in a bar or what ever and if I take my slr I have to carry it in my backpack Then I just cant put my back pack down some one can take it and this just fits in your pocket the only bad thing I have to say is that my fingers are to big for the buttons in the back and I am always pressing the wrong thing but that's just me over all its just a simple point and shoot if you looking for something simple then this is you camera if not just by a slr

I received my SD1100 last week - it only took 3 days with free shipping. Very impressed with Amazon's shipping during the holidays. All that aside, I am also impressed with this camera! I shopped around and chose the Canon SD1100. It's so small and compact. Easy to take along everywhere but it's still packed with all the fun features. I wanted to leave a review on the color alone. I really debated on the brown. Blue would have been my second choice but the chocolate lover won out. It's a beautiful deep brown color. The photo doesn't do the color justice. It's a perfect color of chocolate. I just love it and get LOTS of compliments on it. Highly recommend the Bohemian Brown color!

I had the exact same issue as photo AM Vlad below The biggest issue of the new DSC-W300 camera is its poor lens which is a root cause of all its quality problems. The thing is - you can not take a full-size 13.6 MP pictures. At most wide lens angle (1X) the actual picture's resolution is not equal from side to side: it is high in the center with a big degradation to the edges in both directions. when shooting in 16:9, the edges were completely distorted. My WSC-50 takes better pictures. Returned.
