This is a great lens! This is the second copy I now own. Having the fixed aperture allows this lens to focus in low light situations. My wife and I photograph weddings and this is our primary lens that covers most situations using Canon 40D and 50D cameras.

We love this camera. My husband takes it to work and it is great to send with him when he goes fishing and hunting. You don't have to worry about a little rain or it getting tossed into a backpack. We used the earlier model down in Baja and were happy with the underwater pictures we got. It is not fancy and doesn't have great zoom, but great for people who do a lot of activities outside. Great deal for the price!!!

I took this camera out to an underwater archaeology site. It worked great and took good pictures especially with the flash. The water had about 2 to 3 ft. visibility. I tried to take a picture without the flash but the lighting was too poor. The video part of the camera worked very well too. The only problem is the small buttons with thick gloves. Memorize the buttons because you won't be able to tell what the buttons are since they are only black with very small icons. Well worth the price.

I bought this because of that but have regretted that decision ever since. First the lens kept getting stuck either in or out and the camera wouldn't take any photos. I sent it back for service. Got it back with a note that said nothing was wrong with it. Same thing happened when we were on vacation, I got stuck using the throw away cameras. Sent it back again, they said they fixed it but it happened again. The third time they did replace the camera with a "reconditioned" one. It has worked for 3 months but now the lens is starting to stick again. Along with it not working properly the pictures are just horrible. ... Read More
