The camera would not work and then I realized it was because the battery was not charging. When I contacted the seller, they told me the battery did not work and that I had to buy a new one. Why sell me a camera with a non-functioning battery? They could have simply written in the description that a new battery would need to be bought. I would have never purchased it!

IMPORTANT UPDATE: Well, I'm going to see if I can return this camera. I told a few videos, this time with audio and the audio was AWFUL; broken at best and completely gone a lot of the time. I tried several videos, with and without using the zoom feature. It's really bad!!!! I've read some disturbing reviews online, so I was a bit pleased to see the quality of the photos and the videos. I captured two videos, about one minute each and transferred them to my computer with a card reader. The videos are just fine. I find them to be as good as most other digital camera videos. They were smooth, the zoom works well and focuses quickly, though your image is out of focus during the zooming. The photos are crisp and shape, the flash works really well. Latley I started shooting 3 different camera angles for football (with a little help from my friends)...so the Samsung NV24HD is the latest addition to my bag, and it is a great one. Allow me to keep my review simple and focused on this use since there are som many other comprehensive reviews already. The wide angle lens seems to be the coolest thing when shooting the games. It's a very durable camera with overall good quality - excellent for children/infants who grab the camera when you aren't looking. A little too sophisticated sometimes for simple point and shoot because the default setting upon turning it on makes pictures blurry. Additionally, smack dab in the middle of the screen/lens/memory area is a pixel "dark" spot that doesn't consistently go away no matter what you try. It is a ghost spot that is electronically driven (not dirt driven).

I've had this camera for almost a year. Not only has it broken twice (the automatic shutter does not open and close fully) but it takes terrible pictures. It's so rare that I get a decent photo, I have gone back to using my old-school clunky Sony with a 16mb memory card. I'm tossing this Kodak and replacing it with another Sony.

As a Sony advocate I applaud the Sony Alpha! Sharp pics! Flip screen is awesome! Move over Canon and Nikon ! I upgraded from a Sony F828 (which I still use! and it's in excellent like new condition and trouble free since the day it arrived). Sony stands behind their product! The only glitch with the alpha is the must purchase of a convertor which allows one to use MemorySticks. Personally, I feel that for the price of this camera Sony should include the adaptor.

Although this lens does not have Nikon's VR - vibration reduction - it is definitely more than worth the price. It is still a Nikon lens - excellent optics and sturdy construction - and with a maximum tele of 55mm, the VR is really not necessary.

I had the canon sd870 Canon PowerShot SD870IS 8MP Digital Camera with 3.8x Wide Angle Optical Image Stabilized Zoom (Silver) but returned it because the wide angle lens had too much distortion. This camera looked really nice and had great technical specs so I pre-ordered it. I waited and waited and finally it came in the mail and within a day I sent it back. It is a plastic piece of crap. It is loud, big, heavy, cheap feeling and cumbersome to operate. The pictures were alright but nothing to brag about or pay this amount of money for.
