This camera is perfect for underwater pictures AND regular pictures! Last time we went snorkeling we made the mistake of purchasing disposable cameras - FAIL. Terrible and no depth. This one has zoom and the clarity is amazing. The colors also came out really well. It's pretty industrial - everything is easy to access underwater. It comes with an extra water proof seal ( so 2 water proof seals in case the 1st breaks). 5 stars, easy to use (actually had to read the manual, but it comes with a manual for a reason) and produced great results.

Photo : Vivitar 285HV Auto Professional Flash
I started out buying more expensive Canon flashes but didn't need the E-TTL features. Based on a web review, I bought a couple of Vivitar 285HV's and used them with my existing off-camera triggering system (which consists of Elinchrom Skyport radio triggers and Wein optical hot shoe triggers). All of my existing triggers fired through the hot shoe of the flash and have worked with a variety of flashes, including older Vivitar 283 flashes.

However, the 285HV is triggered on a different contact point than most flashes. It works fine on-camera, but doesn't work at all with any of these remote triggering options.

I've found that you need to use the trigger port on the side of the flash. Wein peanut slaves have a high failure rate, but Sonia triggers seem to work much more ... Read More

My V3800N was my very first camera purchased so that I could have a fully manual camera for my Photo 1 class. Although I haven't used it in a while, I still love my little Vivitar and have plans to take it back out again. It's solidly made with a great hand-feel. It's an excellent beginner's film camera. At at tasty price point, it's well worth the gamble because I promise it will pay off!

This looks like a nice video camera. Don't judge a book by the cover. I have made several movies with this camera and none of the sound came out even loud enough to hear when the movie is played back, to top it off, the movie format it produces movies in is AVI format, and microsoft media will not even play it. you have to go thru a video format transformer to get a video clip to be playable on your new windows player. The sound is the big killer....i have no idea if it is the microphone is so small or what, but I have another video camera by AIPTEK that is same size and the sound and video work great on it, plus the movies made by the AIPTEK can be played by microsoft player and also are directly importable to my Adobe Premier video software, whereas the movie clips from the Vivatar will NOT IMPORT ... Although this is a fairly simple camera, we could not figure out to to record video clips without being hooked to the computer. My grandson emailed to vivitar 2 times with no response. Phone calls sit on terminal hold! The instructions do not explain usage..We still have not figured this out and I feel I am a fairly intelligent person. And to top it off, it takes lousy still pictures.
