I purchased the vs41 and vs55. Vs41 more flexable but vs55 stays firm on any surface. I've Used the Vs41 a few times and it does what its suppose to do but if you use a heavy lense the VS55 will do a job better.

I've had this case for over 3 years now and it has been great. I fit my Digital Rebel, 5 lens, 2 extra batteries, 2 chargers, a promaster 7500 flash and a lightmeter in here. It was a trick figuring out all the foam for that task but it works fantastic. I'm on my second set of foam due to the fact I changed my kit a little bit so I ordered brand new foam from Vanguard. It costs $7.50 + $5.00 s/h. This case really is quite durable. Just yesterday I set it up on end and stood on it to climb up on a rooftop and it held my near 190lbs just fine. No complaints here. This case was a throw-in on a high end Marantz digital recorder my wife purchased. She didn't need the case so I used it for my camera kit.

I actually used it for a short stop motion school project. It worked really well considering how small it is. I didn't have high expectations, I just needed something to keep the camera from moving. The only reason I took off was because if you push too hard the legs start to fold back into themselves, but I wrapped them in duct tape for the project length and it worked wonderfully. Good buy for a temporary thing or a hobby, but professinals will definitely want something a little more stable.

There isn't much I can add to the top reviews, but there is one feature I'd like to discuss more - the tubular telescoping legs. Many have complained that the legs will not lock unless they are fully extended. This is not 100% accurate. The legs / latch will lock anywhere along the top-most segment IF all the sections below it are fully extended. This gives you about a 6" tolerance, which is useful on uneven ground. However, you can't really use it at intermediate heights because you may run into problems with the legs slipping if all the lower sections aren't fully extended. The product stores the cards comfortably in a nice aluminum housing, but when you go to remove a card, the hard foam that holds the card in place, starts pulling away from the aluminum housing. It just means that you have to hold one finger on the foam while pulling the card out with another finger. It's annoying, but manageable. The case itself seems to open a little to easily, but as long you're not fiddling with it, it stays shut in your bag or your pocket.

Very stable table top tripod, works well and seems to be of good quality. All joints can be adjusted by hand from easily moved to essentially locked. My singular gripe is that when the tripod is all folded up it is as big around (circumference) as a normal sized tripod. It will still fit in a backpack which is good but don't expect to be stuffing this thing into your pocket unless your wearing MC Hammers parachute pants from the 80s.

Even though this is the rcomended case for the camera it does not fit properly. You should not recomend this as the case for the MPVR.

I bought this together with a Canon Rebel XSi and some lenses, the whole kit from Cameta Camera. The items arrived intact and I looked like a kid on X-mas day. I opened the Vanguard VT-126 and extended it to test its features and on my first crank of the extension shaft...the crank stayed in my hand. Upon close examination, the shaft turned by the crank is made out of plastic, not metal. Hey designers, lose weight somewhere else, this part needs to be made out of metal or it will break, just a matter of time! I paid $60 for it, but I see lots of options on Amazon.com for less than that with more stars. Ohh, but if you decide you don't need to raise the tripod and looks are important to you, this tripod looks great!
