I wanted to try out a ring flash, but didn't want to start with a $1400 profoto, so I purchased the GoPro Flash Ring. I am not sure if that was the best idea. This product is barely better than a home made ring flash, which you can see tons of people have made on youtube. The silver reflective material inside is just silver ink on a thin piece of paper. The plastic is very cheap and is only held together by a thin piece of cardboard at the top which also has some silver ink on it's back side, acting as a reflector. I expected more for the price. In reality this thing is worth about $30 at most.

Bought this to use for a wedding. The little metal piece where the flash slides into popped off after a few days of practice with it. Super-glue seems to do the trick in putting it back together. Second star for the way it sits nicely against camera without scratching the body and having a knob that still allows tripod mounting.
