This videocassette is a nice upgrade to the HD format for those who still want to use cassettes instead of DVD's or memory cards. Call me old fashined but from my personal point of view I prefer to have the videocassette than a fragile and easily damaged DVD's and memory cards. It depends on your preferences.

This was a birthday gift for my teenager. The camera is awesome. In my opinion, better than the Canon PowerShot I have. It has a very nice display, the pictures are clear and crisp. The shutter movement is quick. I would recommend as a good deal for anyone needing a quality camera for a good price.

I moved from a Sony Hi-8 camera that we had for 5 years prior to this, and the first word out of my mouth was "Wow!" The tape-based camera was great for an NTSC camera. The video and audio quality were great for home movies and the occasional training videos that I used it for at work. Aside from the fact that it was a standard def picture, the biggest complaint was for the need for tapes. Needless to say, that old camera is now gathering dust. No tapes, no memory cards means that you can take hours and hours of video without having to worry about missing anything (except when your battery runs out, so keep a spare). The smile detection feature is what sealed the deal. Its a great camera. The only warning is it holds 4 pictures without a memory card. I DID find an 8G memory stick duo for like $22 online so that should make it hold about 2k pics. I didn't find the ISO pics to be too blurry... but I'm not a professional photog, just a mom :) Anyhow, great camera, great pics. I recommend it based on the value.

Small enough to fit in my pocket, however, after 1 week, the screen got a hairline fracture. Even with the pointer pen, screen easily stores fingerprints. Buttons are hard to push with pointer, and navigating is not easy. The flash is VERY Bright (blinding - the kids no longer enjoy having their picture taken), and I have not figured out how to soften it. I have read the manual cover to cover and still have difficults getting the performance I need. First batch of pictures were VERY Grainy (my old Kodak 3.1MP camera took clearer images). Sony replaced the screen quickly, which was very nice. Perhaps I just need to get acclimated with it more.

I have a Grand Wega TV with about 1 Billion hours on it, well not really but it has survived very well through 2 births and up to toddler years. The TV has taken some serious abuse. This is a replacement lamp for your rear projection LCD Television. If your led on the front goes red then it means its time for this replacement. I have no idea the number of hours I have on the original but I expect that the TV was used every day 10 hours plus for over 4 years. It has never skipped a beat. Yes this is NOT the cheapest part to replace but it is significantly less than a new Grand Vega television. Ordered the product from Vann's ... the discounted price (40 less than the Sony store) more than made up for the cost of expedited shipping. Received it in 2 days. Took less than 10 min to install with no tools other than the included allen wrench. Some reviewers are right about the amount of force needed to get the panel off ... it's a little unnerving. The panel is plastic and snaps firmly into clips. I don't get the reviewers that are angry that the lamp needed replacing in the first place. The need for a new bulb every few years is a known issue with this type of TV. It was pretty inexpensive for a good quality HD TV, right? There's no free lunch!
