Small enough to fit in my pocket, however, after 1 week, the screen got a hairline fracture. Even with the pointer pen, screen easily stores fingerprints. Buttons are hard to push with pointer, and navigating is not easy. The flash is VERY Bright (blinding - the kids no longer enjoy having their picture taken), and I have not figured out how to soften it. I have read the manual cover to cover and still have difficults getting the performance I need. First batch of pictures were VERY Grainy (my old Kodak 3.1MP camera took clearer images).

Sony replaced the screen quickly, which was very nice. Perhaps I just need to get acclimated with it more.

I purchased this camera in mid October 2008, and so far have been very pleased given the low price. I initially wanted more features, but did not want to spend over $250-270 total (with accessories like MiniDV tapes, firewire cable, bag, extra battery). I use it for recording my children's music performances.

Plus:
- The video quality is very good. 40x OPTICAL zoom. This was the highest optical zoom I could find in a camera in this price range.
- The sound quality is good in the 12 bit mode, and even better in the 16 bit mode.
- Easy to use.
- Compact.
- Intelligent Lithium battery.

Minus:
- No MiniDV tape included. You will need to buy some.
- NO PASSTHROUGH MODE. This camera cannot accept input from analog sources (like output ... Read More

Don't make the same mistake I did and buy this camera based on all the "great" reviews here. Most people writing reviews here are amateurs (since only an amateur would buy this camera) and don't realize just how awful this camera's images are. I bought this camera for my sister after insufficient research, only to be shockingly disappointed.

The images are simply incredibly noisy, and Sony tries to cover up this massive shortfall by adding massive amount of digital "noise correction." What causes all this noise? This is simply a bad camera with a very insensitive CCD.

In very bright light, you will see noise even in darker colors.

In medium light or with a flash, you will see noise in all shades except whites and the brightest colors. This is how most of your ... Read More

Hello,

I have owned the Sony T100 and T300 (10.1MP) and was never happy with the image quality of either. I purchased and then gave this T500 away, because I was not happy with the larger size and the image quality of both indoor and outdoor images. Images which seem to be, less impressive than the 8MP T100 I had. I use Sony Vaio notebooks and love most Sony products, but Sony digital cameras, just don't perform well, compared to Canon. Sony always wins, when it comes to the style and looks, of their camera's (compact cameras) but the same can't be said, when it comes to the look of Sony images.

After owning the T100 and T300 and giving them away, along with all of their extra batteries and Memory Sticks, I was sure I'd be staying away from Sony Camera's..... Then came along ... Read More

I purchased this model a few weeks ago and have been using it as I can. The one thing I'd read alot about was the viewfinder LCD screen can be hard to see out in the bright daylight and that is very true with it. It made the LCD Screen be just like a mirror. All I could see was my reflection. I emailed Sony and they suggested the back light should be turned on then. I haven't had another situation like that since so I'm anxious to try that and see if its any better. I did have one day that it was a little tough to see the viewfinder and I found that shading my eyes helped me see it better. I think video quality is very good. I tried the night setting and yes it might make things a bit greenish, but you can see so well. I would not recommend using it to take still photos. If you try to use it for ... Read More

This product blowed-up my expectations. It was easy to set-up and the touch screen functionality it's fun to use. The dual picture/video it's definetly an asset with an exceptional videos & pictures quality for a small product like that.
No more cassette to carry, just record and download on your PC (the USB cable it's included). You have 60Gb of data storage on the Sony HDR-SR11 Handycam Camcorder, which is enough for most people.

This bag is huge! i can fit the cables for my cameras, my sony camcorder HC52, my Canon powershot, both battery chargers, 6 dv tapes and theres still a little room!(maybe for another cable or tape-not enough for the cameras to rattle around) if you have two cameras and want only one case- try this one. the battery is great too. this is a steal! Sony itself sells this 114.99 and thats 'on sale'. manual for my camcorder will not fit in bag but i usually leave it in the box. noticed some people complaining about that. hope this helps!

One thing about camcorders is that you need them to be ready when the need arises. This battery has so much power that unless you are shooting Gone With The Wind, it should last for days. When this battery is freshly charged, my Sony CX12 shows 480 minutes of record time on the screen. Wow, that's a lot of time. With the regular battery you really have to carry two in case you end up shooting more than a couple of hours. With this battery you don't even need to think about having enough power. On the down side, it does protrude a bit from the back of the camera, but it's worth it.

There are a ton of cheaper digital picture frames from all sorts of companies I never heard of, but you can always count on Sony. Somewhat more expensive for it's size, but it works perfectly right out of the box. There are a few poor reviews here that claim pictures that have been edited don't work, but that's not my experience. I exported a couple of hundred images from Lightroom 2.0 to an SD card, plugged it into the frame, and they display perfectly. The display is bright and sharp with nice accurate color. The images I used were originally high-resolution scans of slides (from a Nikon film scanner). All have been cropped and adjusted in Lightroom, and some touched up further in Photoshop CS3. I exported 750x480 JPEGs which the frame accepts without any problem. We're giving this to my father-in-law for Christmas, ... Read More
