The adapter is smaller in size than the original and fits better in our camera case, but works just as well. I had been hesitant to order it, since the price was quite a bit lower than purchasing it directly from Sony, but there appears no difference in the product. It works great!

Purchased this from Amazon almost a month ago. I used it and compared it to a Nikon 5200 and Canon A610, both of which were 5 megapixel. What is shocking is the low quality of the pictures, which on close examination turn out to contain a high amount of digital noise and other signs of poor image processing. The Nikon has noisy images, but the Sony is noticeably worse than even that. The Canon is phenomenal in that area, with no digital noise and excellent shading in dark areas. The poor picture quality persisted even after setting the Sony's resolution to 5 megapixels (along with other parameters) to match the other cameras. There are a ton of cheaper digital picture frames from all sorts of companies I never heard of, but you can always count on Sony. Somewhat more expensive for it's size, but it works perfectly right out of the box. There are a few poor reviews here that claim pictures that have been edited don't work, but that's not my experience. I exported a couple of hundred images from Lightroom 2.0 to an SD card, plugged it into the frame, and they display perfectly. The display is bright and sharp with nice accurate color. The images I used were originally high-resolution scans of slides (from a Nikon film scanner). All have been cropped and adjusted in Lightroom, and some touched up further in Photoshop CS3. As a Sony advocate I applaud the Sony Alpha! Sharp pics! Flip screen is awesome! Move over Canon and Nikon ! I upgraded from a Sony F828 (which I still use! and it's in excellent like new condition and trouble free since the day it arrived). Sony stands behind their product! The only glitch with the alpha is the must purchase of a convertor which allows one to use MemorySticks. Personally, I feel that for the price of this camera Sony should include the adaptor.

The sony waterproof case worked great we used it for snorkeling in Cozumel and the Bahamahas. Then in Belize we used it on our cave tubing excursion. took great pics and video, cant speak for deep water because we where no more than 12 - 15ft. deep at the most.It did take good pics both in and out of the water. It was sometimes hard to see the screen underwater but that was probably more my goggles than the case. Flash still works and seems to do a good job with the difuser that is included. All in all the product worked great for us and we hope to have lots more chances to use it. Hopefully next time we can try it SCUBA diving.

I received my battery within a week of ordering. I used the battery while on a trip to Philmont Scout Ranch and took about 400 pictures over a two week period without having to recharge it. I was very pleased with the battery.

Sony DCR-DVD308 works beautifully and seems well put together. It's light, compact, convenient and generally well designed. Operation is very easy, though it is so light it is very difficult to keep steady on a long zoom, and the zoom is extremely rapid and difficult to make unobtrusive - both probably what you get in this kind of camera. It may be a wonderful camera if you just want to watch what you shot, conveniently immediately, on your living room DVD player. Not so much if you want to edit it for anything other than YouTube. The problem seems to be the specific MPEG-2 compression for mini-dvd storage (which is not limited to Sony). I shot one dvd and then tried to edit it, which was a bit of a nightmare. I use these daily in a Philips DVD recorder, taking them out to rip shows for saving on my computer. They are in and out and erased constantly and even with all this abuse, I have not had a single failure. I simply choose to replace them after a few months when I notice I've scratched them up a bit from all the 'in and out'. Recently I could not find my usual 2-pack at a local store so I tried the Maxell equivalent. Big mistake. They were making horrible clicking and squeaking noises during recording and freezing up during playback. I feared I'd harmed my recorder until I bought a 10-pack of these Sonys and everything was smooth again.
