strong and handy, but the string is a bit short if you are using zoom-tele lenses which tend to double it`s length

A LED camcorder/camera light array in the $25 to $40 (depending on sales) with a built-in rechargeable battery is working pretty good, using it with a Sony and Panasonic camcorder. Used virtually in any situation, it makes for a great added video light or still shot light. It is bright up to about 5ft and reaches up to 10ft. It lasts about 1hr and takes about 2hrs to charge. So far for about 20 full uses, it's working fine. The battery is rechargeable but it is sealed and cannot be changed if ever needed to. There are better video lights out there for not much more, but when this item is on sale, it is a compact but very functional LED video light. It comes with a bracket which attaches to the tripod mount on the camcorder and has one accessory shoe.

For a IR array in the $25 to $40 range (depending when its on sale or not). It works well for shooting video in complete darkness with Sony Night Shot capable camcorder or any IR light sensitive camera. It does a very good job up to 5ft or so and barely lights up to 10ft in the bright part of the beam but I was impressed with its brightness in the shorter range. For distance, one will need a stronger and larger IR light array. The batteries last about 1 hour each use and takes about 2 hours to recharge. The batteries cannot be removed and it will be difficult to remove them if ever needed to replace the rechargeable batteries. I use this to clean my lenses all the time! You can't believe the dust, dirt, and grime that sticks to your lens. Once, I accidently focused on the dirt so the picture showed all the dirt... it was amazing! If you want better pictures, you need to start with a cleaner lens. The brush is great, and the smudge remover really does work. I don't understand how it works, because if you touch the smudge remover to your skin, it leaves a black residue. I have no troubel with black smudges on my lens after using it. I don't know how, but it works! Must have for all!

We purchased 2 of these nesting travel adapters and they worked perfectly for our trip to Italy. Helpful hint: Plug your cord into the adapter and then plug the adapter into the wall. When unplugging your device, unplug the adapter from the wall and then your device from the adapter. GREAT price and quick shipping plus excellent quality. Loved the nesting feature and I would recommend this to a friend.

This is not a light that's going to rock your world and light up a whole room. That's not it's purpose. What is it great for is catching impromptu on-camera interviews with people. In this instance, I am a few feet from them and I have a piece of diffusion over the light. What I don't get is the squinting and running away you find with a brighter light used in such close proximity. If you're interviewing people at a wedding, shooting a family member talking to the camera, etc and are relatively close to the subject, this is a great light. I was previously using a small hot-shoe powered light on a Sony camcorder, but since my new Cannon camcorder doesn't have a hot-shoe, this light is a good solution. I purchased this two weeks ago and was concerned that the tripod screw was too short since it barely sticks up beyond the padded plate on the bottom of the bracket - but I was able to screw it into the tripod and use it during a trade-show event I was recording. BUT - once I unscrewed it from the camera after shooting with it for two days - the bracket will NOT re-attach. I think the stress it caused on the camcorders thread caused the threads inside the camcorder to 'strip' and since the tripod stud doesn't go in deep - it won't re-attach. It would have cost nothing for SIMA to include a longer stud for the tripod mount. What were they thinking. We purchased the Sima VHS-Cassette Adapter and it worked fine when the first compact tape was run. Then for no apparent reason our VHS player just wouldn't play any other cassettes in the adapter. We replaced the Sima with a motorized Dynex adapter from BB and have used that about 50 times without any problems. The Sima apparently is simply too fragile to provide any useful service life.
