Tried cheaper remotes that blew on anything other than a lamp. This one takes the start up jolt from a small wall air conditioner.

I have used this imitation security camera for over three months now and overall I am pleased with it. I mounted mine overlooking my garage and it has held up very well. Although the unit is constructed of both plastic and aluminum it appears to hold up to the elements. The blinking LED is still working using the same batteries. The unit does look real and everybody that sees it assumes it is a real surveillance camera. The reason I gave it (4) stars is because the pivot bolt is made of plastic and in time, if the camera position is moved too much, that pivot bolt will either break or not secure the camera at the right angle. It is a minor detail, but if the mounting bracket and pivot bolt were constructed of all steel then for sure this would get a (5) star review. Still this is a good altenative ... Read More

I bought this for use as a remote on/off switch for a slot car track. I have the power supply plugged into a darkroom timer, and then plugged into the switch. Works great, good quality, even comes with an extra battery. Simple operation.

I install video surveillance systems and a few years back I started seeing SVAT units. Since then I have installed many of them with no problems. They are not high end units but are perfect for home and small business. The DVR does generate ALOT of heat so needs good air circulation. The night vision is ok, 10 foot max without some other sort of ambient lighting but the cameras are good in low light so just a regular porchlight is plenty to light most of a yard and keep the camera from going to B/W mode. This product did not work well in our house, almost as soon as I left our child's bedroom, we got static and the screen rolling, and with each step down the hallway it got worse. I tried various settings and still had the problem. There is no way I could have slept with this monitor on in our bedroom with all the static.

This was very easy to set up and it works well. The interference in my house seems to be very minor and I have all sorts of other electronic stuff including wireless internet, ceiling fans, and baby monitors. I would recommend for those looking for a quick and easy solution. The only thing I would like to try is a camera with a wider viewing angle. If SVAT makes it I am going to purchase!

I have this for my 4011 system. Its better than the silver spherical camera that came with the system mentioned earlier. The reception is better, motion detection is better, and the picture is clearer. I've only had it for a few weeks so I don't know how it will work in the rain and cold. My only complaints are that the power cord is too short, the IR light is noticeable at night, and the camera doesn't swivel wide enough to extreme angles.

I was very disappointed with this product. Everything feels cheap, and it also functions that way. Maybe it's just my specific product, but the picture quality is really, really bad. You can hardly say it's a color monitor. Even dark blue colors look white. It makes me wonder how they created the product images... The angle of the camera is ridiculous. The camera must be placed in front of the person to see him right. I thought I could place it aside the door, but then you will not see your guest. They say it has tiltable camera lens, but actually, you can tilt it only vertically. Changing the position horizontally ends up with a picture of your guest profile. I needed something easy to install and wireless so I purchased the WSE201 and connected it to my 4 channel dvr in minutes. The product works fairly well during the day time for the price you pay for. The night vision works well only when the subject is close to the camera. Also keep in mind if you want to connect multiple cameras to a DVR and want to record simultaneously you will need to have a receiver per camera. And if you don't want to spend that money you can have the receiver scan the cameras one at a time, making recording possible, but not simultaneously.
