Bought recorder to replace sony digital that was lost. The sony had six hours of talk time. This recorder has less than two hours in lp. I wasn't paying attention when I bought this. I have not been able to get the software for the camera to work after several attempts. You cannot use the camera without it. Purchasing this recorder was a mistake.

I was glad to find this alternate battery through Amazon. I was worried after finding out that the previous battery was being replaced by this one. I thought I would have problems with my camera, etc. No problems at all.

It's a very durable camera with overall good quality - excellent for children/infants who grab the camera when you aren't looking. A little too sophisticated sometimes for simple point and shoot because the default setting upon turning it on makes pictures blurry. Additionally, smack dab in the middle of the screen/lens/memory area is a pixel "dark" spot that doesn't consistently go away no matter what you try. It is a ghost spot that is electronically driven (not dirt driven).

We love this camera. My husband takes it to work and it is great to send with him when he goes fishing and hunting. You don't have to worry about a little rain or it getting tossed into a backpack. We used the earlier model down in Baja and were happy with the underwater pictures we got. It is not fancy and doesn't have great zoom, but great for people who do a lot of activities outside. Great deal for the price!!!

The Olympus SP-570UZ is handy, simple to learn to use and produces terrific results. I especially love the crispness of close-ups. I got it because it has a hot shoe but have not used the external flash yet. Otherwise, the 560UZ is just about as good. I highly recommend both of these models, but if you want the extra flash, get the 570UZ.

This replaced my Olympus Stylus 710 that was dropped 1 too many times in the 2.5 years I owned it. During those 2.5 years it had traveled all over North American and to 3 other continents and served me very well. Very small, very easy to use, tons of features and settings yet easy to just point and shoot (which is largely how I use it). The benefits of the Stylus 840 over the older camera are more optical zoom, larger lcd, and more megapixels (though for my purposes, ~6 MP is more than enough; picts with this at the highest setting are close to 2MB).
