I got this camera and it lived up to my expectations. I loved everything about it. By far the best camera I have ever owned. The only problem that I experenced is focusing in low light, but that is to be expected with the kit lenses. In order to focus better you need to get a faster lens, a f/2 on the apiture should focus instantly. I diden't have the camera very long,lost everything in a house fire, so am waiting to save the money for the e-520. I know I will love it just as much as the e-410

I bought this flash originally to use with my Olympus C-700 UZ camera because I had found that when using the Olympus wide-angle converter lens on my camera, the diameter of the wide-angle lens was so large that it blocked off the beam from the cameras built in flash. Because of this every shot I took had a big black half circle shadow across the bottom of the frame. To eliminate this problem and mount the light source as far away as possible from the lens I decided to buy the Olympus FL-20 Flash unit, the FL-BK01 right angle flash bracket, and the FLCB01 TTL sync cable to electrically connect the flash to the camera. Bought as a spare / replacement for one I dropped. Its large external "buttons" are easily bumped or even touched, releasing the cap and dropping it wherever you are. You can reduce the problem by rotating the cap clockwise, until it is as tight as it will get. The previous cap was much more secure, so if you can find one of them, that will be a better choice.

The optics on these binoculars seem to work fine but they lose 1 star each for the cheap zoom dial and the twist up/down eyecups. The plastic ring that operates the zoom feels cheap and fragile. The eyecups are a good idea that was executed poorly. Instead of being soft rubber eye cups that you can put up to your face they are made like plastic lens caps that have a 1/2 inch hole cut in them. They twist up and down to change the focal length by about 1/4 inch but there is nothing to keep you from accidently scratching your eyes with the rough edge of the hole cut in the cup.

Not many of these older memory cards available for purchase as I have recently discovered in having to replace a mortally wounded card. It happens! Replacement costs are spectacular! Olympus Digital Camera C-4040ZOOM (and others) are much too useful, even as utility cameras, to sit around, unused, due to dearth of memory cards. Digital camera ownership is much too expensive to justify one's falling prey to exhorbitant replacement costs due to predatory obsolescense practices. Olympus is here taking blatent advantage of its customers. I suppose that from this point on I must carefully venture into other photo markets to seek-out (hopefully), lesser predatory venues. This camera has it's good points and bad points as do all things in this world, but the bad points outweigh the good ones. First the few good points: The pictures turn out nicely (focus kept in center) and the automatic features are great (the film loading and rewinding). Now for the bad points: It's too sensitive -- mine got jostled once and now it only takes pictures every now and then (I have to press the shutter release a ton of times before it'll take a picture -- and sometimes it just wont take a picture) The focus is difficult to use since the viewfinder is blurry so it makes it extremely difficult to tell if you're getting a clean shot. (focus is best if kept in the center) All in all, I do not recommend this camera I personally don't think it's worth the time, ... Read More
