What can I say, this flash is awesome!!! I am not a professional photographer but was getting tired of constantly being one of many parents running back and forth from the stage to take pictures at my childrens events. The built in flashes really don't provide enough for more than maybe 10 feet away. Even on the SP-570 I own. Adding this flash was one of the best investments I've made when it comes to camera equipment. Now I can take pictures from 40 to 50 feet away and the end result is a beautiful picture, sometimes better than the ones I took having to run up to the stage. I'm sure as I learn more about the proper use of the flash my picture taking skills will continue to improve.

I ordered an E-520; it was shipped on 11/30 and I received it at lunch on 12/02 by UPS w/free shipping. Can't beat that... (I also found it on a weekend Turkey Day sale for $469.) I bought this lens to reduce the number of lenses I carry when traveling. I left three lenses home and used this lens exclusively on a recent trip. The wide end let me take more photos in confined areas and the long end was long enough to get decent magnification on short telephoto shots. It also did a nice job on closeups, although I didn't really spend a lot of time thinking about that use. I use an E-510 camera body and found that focusing was much faster and more precise with this lens than the the kit lenses. That was a major improvement. I won't try to add to prior reviews that discuss more technical aspects of this lens, but I love it and think it was $780 well spent.

I got this camera as a gift. My 1st digital camera, I was still attached to film! I was reluctant to make the switch because I though I'll loose that "photographer eye" by clicking in every direction I wanted and not have the danger to run out of film. But I kinda of changed my mind after using a digital camera and seeing the fairly good printed copies. After using my Olympus FE 280 for a couple of month I do recognize the value of point and shoot digitals when it comes to: you simply put it in your pocket, you can see the frame right after and check if you got it right, and after all some pics do come out ok. But when I want more elaborated photos I still carry my Canon EOS 500 and set of lenses (which now I'm considering substituting for digital). But still the Olympus FE 280 is not the best option ... I chose this flash due to my budget. But have not been disappointed. It may have a slow cycle time. In my type of photography with light, controlled environment that has not been an issue. For macro photography of animals/insects it has not seen that much action lately. Waiting on light stand to try out some strobist style shooting with this flash.

it is a great lens a must have for portrait shots. i do have 50 mm, 12-60. all great lenses i love it. its a luxry to have it.
