Nikon Coolpix S Series Deluxe Leather Case arrived today in the mail. My Nikon S550 camera fits into the case with just a little bit of room to spare. This is a fine case and the little bit of extra room around the top and bottom of the camera is good so the power button of the camera doesn't accidentally get pressed and turn on the camera. The camera carry strap may be easily tucked into the extra space at the top or bottom of the camera so as to keep it from hanging out. The case is firm enough to help protect the camera from incidental damage should it be dropped or impacted. I expect this case will serve me well for years to come and probably outlast the camera.

I just got this camera. I bought it because it is small, light weight and has 10MP. All of those qualities are great. However, the delay in taking the picture outweighs the other benefits. I will get it focused and push the button to take a picture and wait and wait before it takes the picture. If you want to capture the perfect expression, this is NOT the camera for you. If you are like me, you pictures of your family will have the puzzled, "you mean you haven't taken the picture yet" type of look. If you just want to capture the larger picture of what is going on and it doesn't really matter when you take the picture, it would be a fine camera.

I have used this camera for about two weeks daily now for work. I hate every second I spend behind this piece of junk. It will over-expose and blowout almost every photo you take unless it's not sunny outside and then you get blurry photos from the slower shutter speed. Also, don't even get me started on the terrible auto-focus system. The focus bracket is in the center of the image, but don't think that's where it will focus all of the time. It would regularly focus on something in the background or foreground and I would have no idea because the bracket stays in the center. The macro mode is terrible as well, it says it will focus up to 5" (which is weak in its own right), but I couldn't get it to focus sometimes as far away as 10-12" on some photos. This is a genuine Nikon battery. The performance of clones make them a very bad deal. Then there is the risk of failure -- destroying your camera, and anything nearby. GET the genuine article.

I use this flash for my Nikon D300, it is a good flash with all kind of functions that I need. I been use it when I shot some wedding pictures and for most indoor use with my 24-70mm lens. Compare to the SB-800 speedlight, the price of the SB-600 speedlight is more than great and the function is enough. It is just like you buy a 50mm f1.8 when you want to buy the 50mm f1.4 lens.
