Its built strong, and sturdy!.Nice hard plastic legs that open with 3-clips for short to long. I think the coolest thing about this tripod is the dovetail plate.! So cool that when you release the pin you can swivel 360 degrees, up/down, right/left! This comes in very HANDY!
One or 2 small drawbacks: #1-The center pole that holds the camera, slips! If you put any pressure at all on it.
Not very taught. this pole goes up & down for length and has a red clip, to hold it, but it still can be pushed down or up very easily..
Also, there is nothing on this tripod to help you level it, so attch'ing your camera can be crooked, so be careful..not a huge hinderance though.
Overall, 4-stars..given for contruction,looks,durability..this is no CHEAP LOOKING TRIPOD, its very ... Read More

I recently bought this Monopod head that goes with the Manfrotto 694 Monopod. Amazon listed this item as an accessory to the Monopod. Both of them are made for each other as they fit well as one piece. The 234RC provides a quick release just by turning the thumb handle that lets the top plate popped out. Once the plate is in place, a side pin provides additional safety to prevent the thumb handle from turning. That's definitely a nice feature in this head. Great buy so far!

I have been using a traditional, three knob tripod head for the last couple of years, and absolutely hated carrying my tripod around. In the instances where I absolutely needed to use it, it was always a chore. It was a pain to setup, and fine tuning once you had a rough composition was difficult, to say the least.

I finally replaced the old head with the Manfrotto 322RC2, and I actually enjoy using my tripod now. Composing shots is much more fluid and natural. You can readjust quickly, and have much more flexibility with positioning. I've used my tripod more in the last month with the 322RC2 than I had in the last year with the other head.

This is a great addition to any sturdy tripod legs.

I wanted a decently affordable tripod with good stability, less weight and I was definitely sure that I wanted a "Manfrotto". After lot of research, visits to many local camera stores and playing around with several pieces i found this one meeting my needs. Light weight (around 4 pounds) & pretty good stable for my Rebel Xti with 70-200 mm on it.
Maximum load (11 lbs). One thing i didn't like is the leg locking mechanism. Sometimes it is hard to open the lock. I loved the 360 degree movement of the middle leg, when combined with Manfrotto 322RC2 it works like a charm. I highly recommend this product who is looking for a affordable Manfrotto with good durablity.

Highly recommended. I use this with a Manfrotto carbon-fiber tripod and Cannon 40D, it works very well. Great ballhead for the money.

I have bought many tripods througout the years. Lightweight tripods, a sweet carbon fiber tripod, and several that have proved to be nothing more than junk.

In all that time, my favorite go to tripod is this Manfrotto Pro Tripod. It is well designed, looks great, and holds up well with extensive use.

I go hiking 2-3 times a month, and use my tripod several times a week outside, I also use it inside some.

The benefit of this tripod is, it is built like a tank. It can support your heavy body camera with a heavy telephoto lens.

Please note that this tripod is a professional tripod, and as such, they expect you to have your own head. I highly recommend this Head, as it is the most versatile out there, and works perfectly with this tripod. Manfrotto 322RC2 ... Read More

Manfrotto Modosteady Video Camera Stabilizer

The Modosteady is a video camera stabilizer similar to the Merlin Steadicam, but much cheaper and lighter. According to Manfrotto it is suitable for small camcorders up to 1.65 lbs. It is well designed and made and folds into a light compact package that easily fits into a medium size camera bag.

It is easy to set up, but like other steadicams requires practice for good results. Set up involves three basic adjustments, horizontal balance, vertical balance and dynamic balance. The following describes set up for a Canon DC40 DVD camcorder. Refer to the instructions included with the Modosteady for a detailed diagram.

Horizontal Balance
Remove the quick release plate and attach the camcorder using one of the three sets of 2 holes. ... Read More

I was looking for a monopod that was tall, strong and easy to use. After reading the reviews I took the plunge. I actually was concerned about the price being to low for a quality product. When I received the monopod I was amazed at the quality and attention to detail. The screw is unique in that the larger screw is spring loaded and slips down to reveal the smaller screw size - works great. The clasp are very smooth and tight. The monopod is very rigid even with my heaviest lens. This is an excellent monopod. I have owned two other monopods and had issue with rigidity, weight and clasps. These are no longer concerns with Manfrotto.
