Im not a professional photographer by any means, but I bought this camera set thinking it would be a fun little addition to a road trip I had planned. I read on the whole lomography thing.. but when the camera came I was a little dissapointed for the price of $60.00. It seems like all you really need is THE CAMERA, THE ELECTRICAL TAPE, THE FILM. Everything else they charge you for is not necessary.
It certainly was fun to take the pictures, but I have yet to develop the film, not a lot of places near my home deal with that particular kind of film. The whole taping process of the camera is a drag as well. I honestly don't even know if I'll ever use it again. So it was pretty much a $60.00 one time toy.Maybe I'll be more excited when I actually develop the film.. ? :)

I don't know that I like my Diana as much as I like my Holga (I'm not keen on the Diana's design where the film spools are concerned; it has a nasty habit of tearing the film instead of advancing it), but as cheap medium-format cameras go, it's pretty good. The Diana, like most fixed-focus cameras, tends to prefer portrait work. Its primary advantage, other than price, is its appearance: It's a cute, silly little thing that breaks down people's inhibitions and makes even the most camera-shy subjects laugh, which makes it perfect for taking lively, spontaneous environmental portraits. I can think of three or four people I've been dying to photograph who will probably give up and let me shoot a frame or two if I break out my funny little toy camera at the right moment.

I've had this flash for over a year now. I use it all the time and it's a lot of fun. I mostly use it with my LCA. That said, it is kind of a piece of crap. It's broken a couple times and I've had to take it apart to straighten out all the little filters when they get crunched up inside. It is currently being held together with gaffers tape.

If you just want to have some fun taking colorful film pictures out at a bar or a party or something - I would recommend the Colorsplash camera, although it will probably break, too. Just keep your receipt, most lomo products have a one year warranty. The Colorsplash camera is a lot of fun and a lot less complicated than the LCA/Colorsplash flash combo. Especially if you're drinking.

This is a fun little camera, if you are shooting in daylight. Its fun to capture the frames of a fast moving object, but the intervals are almost too close together. Someone has to be running or jumping to get results you want.
The flash bothered me as well with this camera. I shot some with it at a small concert hall, I was maybe 8 ft. away from the performer, and the flash did not reach him. The shots I got with the flash were so dark, that facial features were un recognizable, and all that was seen was a little shine off the instruments, and the stage lights. I was shooting with ISO 400, so I expected to get a little more on the film.
If I had known these two things before, I probably wouldn't have purchased it. Go with a different lomo camera. I would.

My main point in writing this review is that you can get this camera for much, much cheaper by buying it used or elsewhere.

The Holga is fun and I know many people who swear by it. While I personally have never been extremely into lomography/"plastic fantastic" cameras, if you are this is a good camera and the advantage of using medium format film is wonderful. Also there are scores of websites that will tell you all the ways you can modify your Holga. So have fun! But seriously, there's almost no reason why not to buy this item used. I would not pay more than $20 for it.
