I am enjoying what I was Expecting. I did a deep reserch on this DVR card and I knew what was going to receive tha's what I got. I am very happy with this purchase it's inexpensive and runs very good. I installed in my desk top using windows Vista home and I have no Problems. I am running 4 cameras and using an external drive for recording. I'm not a computers expert.

It was simple to setup and at close distances from object the picture quality is adequate, though I needed a more of a varifocal (interchangeable lens) type of camera. However, I would highly recommend it and the company I bought it from.

The kit includes an expansion card and four(4) cameras with 60 ft of wire for each camera. Although the written instructions are not comprehensive, many calls for support resulted in operational understanding of how the system should work and how it records. The system works adequately with your own computer sytem and monitor. I had to purchase an additional extension wire for one of the cameras because the camera was installed further than 60 feet away. The system as sold, does not provide audio support. I had previously purchased one(1) wireless camera made by a famous manufacturer for $207, and after a couple of weeks of frustration and poor customer support, I decided to return it. I am sure there are many superior systems out there, but for this price you can't beat it.

Tried a cheaper Lorex version of this from "The Source", remote IR didnt work, so I tried this one, and the picture is slightly worse, tried all 4 channels and different output channels but it still doesn't work as well as the cheap one at half the cost. Audio is scratchy and full of pops and clicks and the picture jumps around a lot. Again, the IR extender simply does nothing at all. I have tried many different positions for the IR extender LED but nothing works. It seems that certain DVD remotes might work but my satellite receiver does not work at all with this. My installation is roughly 30'- 35' and through several walls. It may be possible to get a good picture maybe even audio if you have a very short run, like through one wall, within 10 feet, but it's probably wiser to avoid this one.

I really like this camera. I have 3 cameras currently (all different brands) and this one is the only one at 480 horiz lines and boy is it noticeable during daylight. It's just much crisper. I would't think 60 pixels would make that much of a difference but it does. Very clear, focused. Another reviewer commented about it not being so good at night, and I have to agree, my q-See which does not look as good in daylight, is better at night. The night vision is acceptable, but I found it seemed a bit over-exposed in the center and underexposed on the fringes. Think of a circle about 75% of the screen area, with everything in the circle over-exposed (too bright) and everything outside under exposed Overall, I still like this camera.

Arrived promptly, seems like a sturdy flexible cable. No problems routing it if you remember to spool it out of the coil. That reduces loops.
