The Q-See Camera Kit is a great buy for anyone who wants to monitor an area wirelessly and with ease - during the day, that is. The camera was not made for low light conditions, and an unlit room will just show up as static and black. Also, the item description was not very informative, and there is only one 9-V Battery adapter (for use with the camera), even though it will also work with the receiver. However, there are two wall power adapters for both the camera/receiver. This didn't make much sense, especially if the receiver needs to be powered by a battery for your purposes. I bought the Qsee baby monitor at costco (it came with ine camera) so i purchased another camera to put in the toy room. This is a great set up because you can add up to 3 cameras and hook it up to your tv and it scrolls between all the camera you have hooked up. a must for busy mothers

This would be a nice product, if it only had a good documentation, software and/or an easy way to get the EmployeeID and the time in a database independent format, so that at least you could analyze it yourself, and not be in a M$ blocked environment (MS Access and SQL Server). Don't waste your time with this, unless you only use Windows and don't need to check remote sites.

I've had this unit for just about a week now and I'm already preparing to send it back. Whenever I hook a camera up to this unit and connect the video output to a monitor, the image quality is pixelated quite heavily to the point where it's impossible to distinguish faces from 10 feet away in broad daylight (using Q-See's own line of cameras such as the vandal-proof dome cam and the outdoor camera with the heater installed). Hooking the cameras up directly to a TV (bypassing this DVR unit) gives gives much better and clearer results. Given the price, I would have loved to keep this unit but you get what you pay for. I would not recommend this unit for serious surveillance. Q-See's internet monitoring functions work fairly well however it is a bit unstable - sometimes it takes a few ... Read More

Ive had this unit for 1 day. the discription says night vision up to 30 ft. try 10ft maxx, after that, almost total darkness. I need to see whats going on not only day but night even more . daylight the cameras are ok, sending the unit back, disapointed....

system worked fine after i bought an RF modulator and a few cords and connectors because to my knowledge upon scrambling through the boxes, there was no rca cable from the dvr to the TV, so i had to manage that on my own, otherwise i'd give this system more stars. perhaps just my unit, but i ended up spending more money and an hour or so of my time. and some of u may ask why not just a hvc directly to a coaxial.. i tried, doesnt work, signal not right, only with an RF mod will u get a good signal to a TV set without rca inputs
