I'm new to star glazing and I always thought that I should get a telescope in order to see anything up there. But I was wrong. BTW, I also wanted to introduce my 3 yr old kid to this hobby... After doing some research, I decided to buy Celestron SkyMaster 15x70 instead. I was amazed by so many stars I could see through this binocular. The place I live has lots of light pollution, but I can see hundreds more already. I also like the tripod mount a lot. I was able to set up a simple station in my room, point to some interesting places and let my 3 yr old daughter see something. It only took me 10 minutes to setup, with lots of "help" from my daughter. I'm glad that both she and I could use this binocular and explore the great sky.

Good price but not impressive viewing. Better to be used as a binocular. It doesn't magnify very well and gets very frustrating to use. Would not recommend.

The Celestron Sky Maps make a good adjuct to he SkyScout. They help you with a broader view of the sky in your area and give you a basis to search for objects more easily with the hand held. They "glow" in the dark to make there use on a dark night easier. They can be used alone and replaced older and less user friendly maps I had.

I had bought these slides for my 11 year old daughter who had just recieved a microscope. When they arrived, two of them were broken! Luckily, the specimen was not damaged, so they were still okay to use. I think those slides broke because the wooden box was a little too big for the slides to fit in. Each slide was labeled with the name of the specimen that you were looking at. There were some spelling mistakes on the labeling on the slides, but everything on the little sheet that had all the names on it was spelled correctly. For example, the sheet said that specimen #22 was part of a Dog's Small Intestine. The label on the slide itself said it was part of a Small Lntestine. Intestine was spelled incorrectly. Overall, these slides are a pretty good quality.

This product is great. One of my early frustrations with the Celestron SkyScout was that everyone I was stargazing with had to share the same ear buds, and only one person could listen to the audio at a time. This tiny speaker allows everyone to hear clearly the audio guide. That makes this speaker important equipment for the SkyScout--it allows family and group participation for what had been a more solitary event. Highly Recommended!

set up of the telescope is a breeze. the instructions were clear and also had pictures for reference. it took me about 10 minutes to get it together. i see people complaining the tripod is "unstable" NOT TRUE! its called tightening it! problem solved.
the finder scope is made of plastic but hey, its not your main scope and look at what you paid for. the entire setup does feel cheap but think of it in terms of value.
the entire weight is manageable, not portable but not very heavy.
the direction adjustment knobs stick out way too far for what it does and it might get in your way if your not careful.
now, lets get too the good stuff. WHAT CAN YOU SEE???
my first target was the moon, it was clear and high detail, not a difficult task. i went onto jupiter, pretty much ... Read More

For this price, this set of lenses and filters is a VERY good buy. Haven't used the filters as much, but all the lenses are pretty neat. The Aluminum case is very compact and has a good feel to it. I'm an amateur star-gazer, and this was my first buy after purchasing the telescope. Next on the list is a solar filter.

Highly recommend this.
