Used it to scuba in Australia. It went as low as 60 feet without any problems. Canon also sells weights for this housing to achieve neutral bouyancy so the camera won't float while you scuba. I didn't buy them and really don't feel that it is necessary. The camera wasn't floating like a balloon in the saltwater. It might be slightly buoyant in salt water but not that bad. For the SD770IS with the attached WP-DC23 housing Canon says you would need one weight to achieve neutral buoyancy.

This is a good prime lens for daily indoor use. Pros: - Fast at f/1.8 although soft - Reasonably sharp from f/2.0, gets better from f/2.2 - Rugged - Good 'normal' lens for APS-C sensor with 1.6 multiplier (mine is the 450d) Cons: - Very soft at f/1.8 - My copy has a front-focus problem at times Overall, happy with the lens since I can take available light pictures indoors where my 50mm f/1.4 prime (must have!) is too narrow. I can see the front-focus issue on some shots when compared to my 24-105mm f/4L in a reasonably contolled test. Also, from shot to shot taken indoors, the focus is slightly off at times. On a second test indoors, the focus was spot on.

This case is GREAT! I used it when I went to Niagara Falls and my camera stayed perfect, plus our pictures came out amazing. While other people had their cameras in plastic bags, I knew mine was safe in this case. I also used this case while snorkeling in Hawaii, we got great shots of the fish and ourselves. Definitely worth the money!

Video quality is awesome in daylight. It is not that good in low light conditions, but 1- it is quite normal, 2- you cannot expect such a compact cam to behave like a $10,000 one. One thing I dislike is that you cannot have 2 different image ratio settings for pictures and videos at the same time. Meaning once you switch to 16/9 you also shoot pictures in this mode.

wow - what a great camera. The features that I wanted was EASY to operate, point and shoot camera. That is exactly what I got. Just a great camera that fits in your hand, slides in a purse to go anywhere and be ready at all times to take great pic's of kids. It does use AA battaries but with 4 kids I keep a lot of those on hand. Also, I have been told that if I would use the lithium AA they would last longer. Really easy to put pic's on my computer and share them. I really like this camera!!

Recently purchased this camera before leaving to meet our Italian relatives for the first time in Italy. What a nightmare! The camera would not, no way, initialize the discs that were recommended for purchase with the camera. Very disappointed not to have had a video memento of a trip we had planned for many years. We purchased a battery charger and an additional battery for this camera, and now cannot return it. A lot of money wasted, although we did receive a refund for the camera itself. I'm giving this a one star rating only because I can't leave no stars! Buyer beware.

The 560 worked great through the first set of batteries. Then, the problems started. New batteries would only work for a short time, and then the low battery light would come on. I tried various brands, including rechargeable batteries, but the problem persisted. Finally, I searched online and found MANY other people with this series having the same problem. Buyer beware! You may not have this problem, but there are a lot of us out there that are stuck with an expensive paperweight.

This is the kind of item that makes me feel very positive toward Amazon. I initially went on site to purchase a GENUINE Canon NB-2LH battery. With this starter kit priced at just $12 more than a battery alone on Amazon (or about an equal-to price at some other reputable, dependable eStores) and free shipping, I was really skeptical that I would find a GENUINE Canon NB-2LH battery in the kit--I did. The 200DG bag is fantastic and will replace the Canon 200EG backpack I originally purchased for approximately $60 (more than this starter kit.) I haven't looked at the lens filter as I did not need it. As a professional video producer (and enthusiastic photographer), I have purchased everything from Pro camcorders and lighting equipment to dental floss through Amazon.
