Works exactly as I needed. Use on both my tripod and monopod. Have 1 for big lenses, another for the camera. With multiple bags I always have 1 in the wrong camera bag when I want to put it on the camera. If I was more organized I probably would have it with me each time, but more that isn't going to happen so I will probably by one to keep in each camera bag :-)

It's very well built monopod I was told it was built like a minitank and it is it feels solid and the head that comes with it is ok but not optimal at least to me is not. It would work better if you had the quick release head in my opinion so if I could do it again I would buy this monopod separate and the Quick release head later

One common problem with the plastic bracket is that it's tightening nob is in line with the tilt head and nob is taller than the top of the bracket, so that makes securing down anything that is bigger than the diameter of the bracket, imposibble. The Bogen/Manfretto bracket does not have that problem, plus the top handle bar can turn the male stud, once the handles and nob are tighten, nothing will tilt or turn. This is one bracket what will last life time. Highly recommanded.

I got this tripod head to help me get more precise camera position adjustment, especially with macro photography (by no means the only application for this head), and it quickly became my favorite tripod head. The head gives you two different kinds of control in three different planes of adjustment - you can adjust the camera to tilt back or forward, side to side, or flip over from horizontal to vertical. I bought these separately -- I don't think this bundle was available at the time. Too bad, it was cheaper, and comes with a case. They make a great set; the three set screws on the sticks mate with depressions on the ballhead so the joint is perfectly solid. The versatility of the sticks is impressive; the distinctive design which allows the center column to be used horizontally works as advertised, and with this particular ballhead I can point the camera straight down, copy stand-style, or straight forward for shooting into a light tent. The foam grips for cold weather are a nice touch. I have had no problems with slipping on the ballhead, even with a Nikon 80, the 18-200mm VR lens, and the SB-600 flash. This is my first "non-consumer" tripod meant for serious photography. The manual clearly explains how to use it and I was using it in a matter of minutes. The bubble level tracking takes a little while to get used to. But how level your camera is will also depend on the ballhead you use with the tripod (I use a Manfrotto 3025 3D Junior Head). All in all, this tripod/ballhead combination seems to work out fine for my Nikon D70. When I photographed my first wedding, I noticed that the tripod's "feet" seemed to catch and drag across the carpeted floor in the church (but it might have been just that carpet). However, it sat well and solid in my hand while carrying it around with my camera on it...although I would recommend using both hands to move it lest you drop it and annoy everyone.
