I tried a few other cameras (some bought and returned in the same day) in a quest to find an inexpensive backup for our primary Canon point and shoot. Based on ratings and my own experience with Canon cameras, I ordered this camera from Amazon without trying one. As I expected, this is a great unit for the money. The picture quality in indoor light conditions is much better than other brand cameras I tried in this price range. Also, the canon cameras seem to do very well taking video clips at normal indoor light levels - definitely note the case on some others I tried. I would recommend this camera as a strong performing inexpensive unit.

I was looking for a camera to replace the Canon that I lost. I just need a camera for casual use, a few group shots here and there, nothing major. This camera fulfills that perfectly, and got it for a great price on black friday along with the free sd card.

I received my SD1100 last week - it only took 3 days with free shipping. Very impressed with Amazon's shipping during the holidays. All that aside, I am also impressed with this camera! I shopped around and chose the Canon SD1100. It's so small and compact. Easy to take along everywhere but it's still packed with all the fun features. I wanted to leave a review on the color alone. I really debated on the brown. Blue would have been my second choice but the chocolate lover won out. It's a beautiful deep brown color. The photo doesn't do the color justice. It's a perfect color of chocolate. I just love it and get LOTS of compliments on it. Highly recommend the Bohemian Brown color!

For anyone thinking about ordering this camera, it is amazing what they have put into such a small package. Included in the deal was a 4 gig sd card. All products were as advertised, and the free delivery came a day earlier than promised. There seems to be a lot of choices to pick from when using the menu, and that might take awhile for me, my attention span is shorter than a puppy. As of this moment, I am really glad I ordered this camera and glad I ordered it from Amazon. The best price, great service, and quick and free delivery.

I just got this camera. I bought it because it is small, light weight and has 10MP. All of those qualities are great. However, the delay in taking the picture outweighs the other benefits. I will get it focused and push the button to take a picture and wait and wait before it takes the picture. If you want to capture the perfect expression, this is NOT the camera for you. If you are like me, you pictures of your family will have the puzzled, "you mean you haven't taken the picture yet" type of look. If you just want to capture the larger picture of what is going on and it doesn't really matter when you take the picture, it would be a fine camera.

Great buy, the easiest camera I've ever used. I bought it for my mother-in-law that has a hard time with the new techno stuff. This camera tells you what each function is used for. I would buy it for my 5 year old. Great buy for someone young or is scared of new techno stuff.

I have been using the SX10IS for over a month. I will only echo the positive reviews already posted. I'm still in the process of exploring and expermenting with the special features of this camera. The result has been some very excellent and beautiful prints. The only two negitive things that I find annoying, is the unattached lens cap and the instruction manual. Other reviews mentioned the lens cap problem. I wish there was a better way have this cap less likely to be misplaced. The manual presents a good amount of information in a very compact booklet. After several days of using this manual it broke apart into several loose pages. I do not have any negitive comments for the camera. I am very happy with the features and operation of this product.
