I was very pleased when I first received my remote. It worked as expected the first day. I went to use it a few days later and it did not work. I replaced the batteries and still did not work. I returned it right away and ordered a less expensive one which I like much better and is still working after 2 weeks, yipeeee!

I purchased this frame because I read it had better resolution than others that were cheaper. I am very impressed--it delivers. It also has very easy photo transfers and offers an array of options that are useful. The cons (and they are minimal) are that the arm that holds the frame upright could be a little longer. And the remote is not intuitive to use--guess I'll have to break down and read the manual. Overall, I am very pleased with my purchase.

Smartparts SPX12 - Digital photo frame - flash 256 MB - 12.1" I've been fiddling with the SPX12 for 4 hours now. Its not for the faint of heart and not worth the money. I purchased it for pics and video for my Mom. The pics side is ok. It does the job as expected. The video side, at least on this one, is worthless. Does not play 8 out of 10 movies I've tried. No AVI's. Will play a couple of MOV's. I've tried to rescale the videos down to screen size, saving AVI's as MOV's, re-saving MOV's and exporting them in 3 different apps to a new MOV file. Nothing. I am a wedding photographer. We have 3 Nikon SB 80's and 3-SB 800 units used weekly for the past 4 years. We also have 3 Canon 580 units which have worked flawlessly. This year, I switched back from Canon to Nikon, and when the SB 900 appeared, I purchased it for my new Nikon D300 and D200 cameras. The first unit was Dead on Arrival. The replacement unit works well and has wonderful program and update capabilities. It is easy to use. My only concern is the unit overheats very quickly when shooting wedding groups and bouncing the light off ceilings ect... This requires the strobe to do larger power dumps than would the flash if pointing directly at the subject.... My husband and I bought this digital frame as a gift for my parents, and they love it! They were so excited about the number of photos that can be loaded and have been showing it off to friends and family who visit. For people who aren't tech savvy, they will need help loading photos onto the memory card that comes out of the box. Otherwise, it's pretty easy to connect the card to your computer via a USB or card reader drive. If you have a lot of high resolution photos (i.e., 3-4 MB each), I would recommend eiter reducing the resolution or buying a larger memory card than the one that comes with the frame out of the box so you can get more images loaded. Portable USA 10.4-Inch Digital Picture Frame (PU10W) Concept good BUT! The remote controls on both of the TWO products that I bought fail to control the digital display as advertised. Generally, one finds the whole process of attempting to navigate using the remote to be very frustrating and ultimately one gives up. Simple commands such as advance one picture are ok, but anything more than that, particularly switching between folders (directories) on the memory card are all but impossible. Contrast controls are not particularly good in dealing with varying exposures.
