I have not used this yet.. still considering returning it.. the problem is the size of it.. i bought this for my teen to use with her digital camera.. and omg.. i knew it was not compact, but didn't realize it was giant.. my fault.. should have read description better.. :( I have ordered many items from amazon, and this is the first time that I have encountered my next problem.. the printer came in it's packaging and that is it.. no amazon box to disquise what was inside.. so fed ex pulls up and hands me part of my daughter's Christmas in front of her.. rrrr...

I just received delivery from Amazon today (an amazing two days after I placed the Order). I loaded in the software and hooked up the scanner in about ten minutes and was already scanning. That scanner itself works as advertised. I scanned negatives that are about 15 years old. I bought the scanner primarily to preserve my dad's old 35MM slides and load them onto a digital picture frame. The 4400F is up to that task. Scanning four pictures from the negatives at the highest resolution took about 7 minutes (which I thought was a bit long). I downgraded to "Standard" and it cut the scan time to about 3.5 minutes for four pictures. I bought this printer from Amazon and everything's been great. Receiving it ahead of schedule and at a good price. The printer has performed flawlessly so far, copying, printing and scanning are real quick and it was very easy to install. Well, that doesn't go for setting up on a network but, like all the earlier reviews, it took some doing. I know I didn't follow the steps to a "T" but still got it done in a reasonable amount of time. The cartridges will be costly at about $15-$17 each, times 5 (ouch) but, what printer doesn't cost much for ink?? The footprint is reasonable and great for my needs. I do a lot of printing and I highly recommend this printer!

This is a beautifully made and operating product that I have not had the time to test all of it's capabilities. Like so many electronic products making their appearance, each generation is progressively more complex than the previous to the point that, at times, they beome cumbersome and hard to use. By the time the user gets to be ninety years old, simply inserting a piece of paper and giving the knob on the platten a spin and then typing would be a blessing.

First of all, this printer is very professional and sleek looking. It doesn't take up much space at all when it's all closed up, and prints reasonably fast for most moderate users. Driver's installed easy, came with great free software, free 4x6 photo paper, and free 4x6 premium photo paper. Best value for the price (Although you can find it at about half the cost at a not-to-be-named superstore)

I've had nothing but trouble with HP printers. The Canon MX310 is such a wonderful change to a truly quality printer-scanner-fax, and for half the price! The software installed without a hitch in Windows XP and all functions work great. The manual is somewhat vague and it took some small amount of fiddling to operate the fax and scan modes, but in the end, not enough to remove a whole star, as it's really pretty simple to use. It also looks good, with a sleek design. I love it! Keep it up, Canon!

I've had my printer for about 10 months. I loved it in the beginning. For the price, I thought it was a great printer (and still do think the quality printing is good). My problem is that after about 5 months, the paper feeder would no longer feed paper into the printer. The rollers would roll, but wouldn't catch the paper to feed it in. I called Canon and they sent me a refurbished one to replace it and paid the shipping to return the old one. I was happy with their prompt response, and I do disagree with reviews saying Canon's service is bad. I would give this product 4 stars, but I'm waiting to see if I'll have the same problem with my replacement printer first.
