One of the rules of photography is that for any serious work, you're going to be on a tripod. Tripods aren't possible in a lot of situations either by needing to be mobile or being in a busy environment and not wanting to be a trip hazard. A monopod gives you most of the stability of a tripod when you can't use one. Try using one in a darkened aquarium. I did my first wedding shoot using only non-IS lenses with this monopod and had very few tossers due to blur. Yet I was still mobile enough to shoot a wedding. The directions ought to say that you cross the straps _after_ you run them through the respective eyelets. They may take the prize for hopeless directions, as they are. I give it a half hour to figure out as it stands. Not mechanically good enough to keep the camera from vibrating as it resonates with bumps in the ride. You'd need also some non-slip rubber interface to a handlebar under it, also, so that it stays put. Okay for a fixed support.

I recieved the product in great condition. All pieces were in the box and the tripod worked better than expected. I seen several tripods for way more money and they were not even close in comparison. this one is by far greater in height and stability. i use it often and have NO complaints.

This collapsible monopod is easy to transport and use sitting or standing. Although not as steady as when using a tripod, night and indoor pictures witgout flash are now much clearer with the added stability this gives.

This is a fun ball head to work with, very stable and has a bubble level if you need it. I'm not sure the level will do much for you if you move the mounting plate. The plate can be moved from the location on the handle shown in the picture to the base of the handle. The only reason I can imagine anyone doing that would be to get a few extra inches of height, or if you like vertically positioning your camera more than the normal horizontal so that the level worked for vertical instead of horizontal.

This item is perfect If your looking for a tripod thats can stand on almost any surface and not take up pocket room. At a price of less then two dollars this is by far your best bet. I was hoping for a little more though so I can't give it a perfect five. I do alot of solo filming in woods and basements and other such environments and i was hoping that I would be able to wrap the legs around branch's and other random support structures but the legs were not flexable enough. Great tripod over all but I think I'm still gonna check out a gorillapod.
