I had bought these slides for my 11 year old daughter who had just recieved a microscope. When they arrived, two of them were broken! Luckily, the specimen was not damaged, so they were still okay to use. I think those slides broke because the wooden box was a little too big for the slides to fit in. Each slide was labeled with the name of the specimen that you were looking at. There were some spelling mistakes on the labeling on the slides, but everything on the little sheet that had all the names on it was spelled correctly. For example, the sheet said that specimen #22 was part of a Dog's Small Intestine. The label on the slide itself said it was part of a Small Lntestine. Intestine was spelled incorrectly. Overall, these slides are a pretty good quality.

For what I needed this for, it works well. I don't know what the actual magnification is, but I'm not worried for the price I paid. The added light feature is really useful, too.

The Celestron microscope is a great little tool, usually I have to go into the clean room to view a package under one of our optical microscopes, now I can do it at my desk. It's well worth the small cost!.

Celestron has taken the typical Chinese laboratory prepared slides, corrected many of the spelling errors in the listing that comes with the box and packed the wooden box in a nice printed cardboard box. The selection is more interesting than the three other '100 slide' collections that we have, but the quality of the slides is the same. Only about forty of the slides are duplicates of our other sets, and ten of those are different enough to merit keeping both prepared specimens. I like the wooden box, and Celestron's slide labels are better than the other three sets because they have the slide numbers located at the very top of the label (some sets do not number the slides themselves). I use my Belomo loupe for nusmismatics, art and antiquities. As others have said- shop for a better price. Unfortunately, the early days of $13 Belomo's are gone. Still, even at todays prices, there isn't a loupe at this price point that's anywhere in the same universe as the Belomo. Matter of fact, there are loupes that cost twice as much that are arguably inferior to the much cheaper Belomo. I now use my Belomo loupe more than I do my (much more expensive) Nikon. Why? Simply put, in two years, I have yet to figure out what the Nikon does better than the Belomo. If the Nikon loupe does indeed do something better to justify its much higher price, it must be something done 'in theory' because in practice, the two are almost identical in terms of real world performance. I bought this microscope for my 11 year old daughter and she absolutely loves it. Its got a very lightweight design and is easy to carry around. Even with only a mirror as a light source, it still has great lighting (you either need to be viewing in a very well-lit room or in a sunny area.) This microscope is good for anybody looking for a cool new "toy." Great for all ages.

it is worth its price. I strongly suggest to people who have interest in microscopy. Easy setup (actually out-of-the-box ready!) 5 free uniteresting slides, but still good enough to set up your fine tunes.
