While attending an astronomy club's night out, one of the members offered to show me a globular cluster using his image stabilized binoculars (brand unknown). As I brought the portion of sky into focus, I pressed the button and -- WOW! The fact that it is a 7 to 15X optical Zoom binocular makes this $40 item a bargain. Bushnell has good optics. This pair is very light weight. It has a small size and small case to go with it. Everybody needs a set for sports or birdwatching or sightseeing on a trip. Buy it.

I have used Nikon binoculars in 8x40 and 10x50 and these are excellent for glassing while hunting. I liked the idea of having a zoom feature so as to examine subjects in more detail when necessary, but zoom binoculars don't have a great reputation from what I have read. I purchased the 10-22x50 with some apprehension and am I ever glad I did. The optics are fantastic at 10 power with no distortion and are a pleasure to look through. There appears to be some bluriness when zooming up to 22x requiring some diopter readjustment. This is my second Bushnell scope, a bit more powerful than the 1st. i use it to monitor an eagles nest here in NE Ohio. LOVE the adjustable eye piece. at max(60x) image not as clear as I would have hoped, but all in all a very good scope for the money !!! as for Amazon.com you guys rock !!! 5-7 day shipping here in 4 !!!!

This binocular is quite easy to use and has a nice clear field of view. I find it very useful for bird watching, for example. Two negatives: (1) it is bulkier than the small fixed power types (2) the range of focus goes well past infinity and the useful range of focus (close up to infinity) is all in about half the total focus control range. This takes a bit of getting used to.

These binoculars are as small as opera glasses and weigh about the same, but they have a solid, trustworthy density about them. Their optics are crystal like and as for ease of use, I can easily find and focus on circling hawks with these little beauties. Years ago I had a pair of Trinovid binoculars. These Nikons are so much easier to use and so much sharper, there's no comparison.
