unbelievable, so light, so convinient, so easy to use, and so great video quality!!! I bought a $1000 Sony HD camcord in January but didn't have ANY chance to use it because it's so inconvinient!!!! This is great I can actually take it to the mountains, to parties, and every one, I mean every one wanted to buy one when I showed them how easy to shoot a video using this camera!!! Thanks Amazon!

Nikon Coolpix S Series Deluxe Leather Case arrived today in the mail. My Nikon S550 camera fits into the case with just a little bit of room to spare. This is a fine case and the little bit of extra room around the top and bottom of the camera is good so the power button of the camera doesn't accidentally get pressed and turn on the camera. The camera carry strap may be easily tucked into the extra space at the top or bottom of the camera so as to keep it from hanging out. The case is firm enough to help protect the camera from incidental damage should it be dropped or impacted. I expect this case will serve me well for years to come and probably outlast the camera.

I had expected a lot from this camera after seeing so many good reviews about the same, but that didn't really happen. Every picture i have taken with this camera has some kind of blueish-ness in it and the switch that moves from still picture to movie mode didn't work very well either. Also while reviewing the pictures/videos it took a long time to fetch them from the flash memory card. So, in short i'm not really happy with this one.

You can not base your review of the camera only on the editing software that comes with the camera. All HD camera's come with just basic editing software which do not take advantage of hardware. I purchased this camera 2 weeks ago, connect directly to my HD 65" and the picture is incredible. I use Vegas Pro and the editing is great, burn to DVD DL with Blue Ray format and the play back is just as great. Great camera for the price. I do have one question. What was included within the box when you recieved your camera?

I had 4GB card free with purchase of this Garnet colored camcorder. It lasted about 1.1 hours in SP quality. I took this to some caverns at Shenandoah National Park and the videos turned out to be OK. Battery life was better than my team caver's Sony flash camcorder. In addition to being so cute and made in Japan (hard to find these days), it is quite impressive in low light settings. I just used easy mode in the caves. At first, when I checked random reviews here (mostly negative), I was worried about low light in the caves. I won't repeat what other reviewers said. I think this is the best you can do without going into the prosumer +$2000 level. Here is what sets it apart from the average cheap camcorder: 1. The ability to shoot progressive frames. This is invaluable for those filming for the internet. Plus, progressive frames compress better; one of the reasons store bought movies look better than average joe's. 2. The ability to white balance. Especially with blue/green screening, this is very helpful. Good luck finding it on the average consumer camcorder. 3. Native 1920x1080 sensor times 3. This camera is not FakeD - it's real HD. When it scales, it scales DOWN, not up. I selected this camera because it was way more convenient than the digital video camera I have been using. I wanted something that could fit in my pocket and upload video easily to grandparents. So far I have used this camera only a few times, and been really disapointed. My main concern is the image quality - photos are sometimes good quality, but frequently blurry or out of focus and video breaks up into pixelation every 10 to 15 seconds. I do not know if I have a bad camera or if this is just the expected quality. I am really sorry I bought this camera rather than waiting for lots of others to post experiences.
