This camera is great. The zoom is amazing and the clarity is wonderful. The 3" screen makes taking and viewing pictures a breeze. This camera takes great pictures in low lighting conditions. One example...my old Olympus 5 MP camera took horrible pictures of my Christmas tree when lit. The picture would come out looking like a blurry fireball. With this Canon, with the flash off in the dark and my Christmas tree illuminated, the lighted tree comes out in perfect clarity. You can see each individual bulb perfectly clear. I was amazed. I will have this camera for a long time.

I had expected a lot from this camera after seeing so many good reviews about the same, but that didn't really happen. Every picture i have taken with this camera has some kind of blueish-ness in it and the switch that moves from still picture to movie mode didn't work very well either. Also while reviewing the pictures/videos it took a long time to fetch them from the flash memory card. So, in short i'm not really happy with this one.

You can not base your review of the camera only on the editing software that comes with the camera. All HD camera's come with just basic editing software which do not take advantage of hardware. I purchased this camera 2 weeks ago, connect directly to my HD 65" and the picture is incredible. I use Vegas Pro and the editing is great, burn to DVD DL with Blue Ray format and the play back is just as great. Great camera for the price. I do have one question. What was included within the box when you recieved your camera?

Received this digital camera only yesterday. Have taken quite a few pictures and they are fantastic! I set it on auto, used the zoom, and every photo came out beautifully. It will take a while before I try all its features. I took pictures today in low light; then I realized I didn't use the flash so I took the same pictures with the flash. When I printed them, I could tell no difference between the photos taken in low light with the flash and without the flash. Unbelievable. I have had excellent experience with my previous two Fujifilm cameras. And, over the years, with each model, they just get better and better. And this camera can use the XD card from my previous Fujifilm camera although one has to format it again in this camera. I also purchased the 2G SD card with this model. I anxiously watched the mail each day waiting for my order...it was only one day beyond the expected delivery. This is a terrific camera! I have shown it to many of my coworkers and they are wowwed. Even our IT guy says he has to get one of these and recommended that our business purchase one for on-the-job use. Beautiful crisp pictures, ease of operation, and best price I found was through Amazon, which included free shipping and a free 4GB card. I also purchased a 16GB card and reader with the camera for $34, which ensures I don't run short of memory.

I think this is the best you can do without going into the prosumer +$2000 level. Here is what sets it apart from the average cheap camcorder: 1. The ability to shoot progressive frames. This is invaluable for those filming for the internet. Plus, progressive frames compress better; one of the reasons store bought movies look better than average joe's. 2. The ability to white balance. Especially with blue/green screening, this is very helpful. Good luck finding it on the average consumer camcorder. 3. Native 1920x1080 sensor times 3. This camera is not FakeD - it's real HD. When it scales, it scales DOWN, not up. It has three sensors for each primary color of light, and the sensors are larger than the Panasonic DVX100's (which is around $2,300). Granted the DVX100 is an SD camera, but it sure helps. ... Good all around lens. This replaces all my other lenses except Nikkor 12-24 which is the most usefull lens I own.

this one star is for amazon, the item i received was with many scracthes around the body, with cables unhooked, even the battery for the remote controller was placed in. this is a definitely used camera. how could this happen from such a big amazon, unbelievable. i would not bother if they had told me this is refurbished item, but they sell it as brand new. the item could even be defective I do not know.
