This case is awesome! That's all there is to it. You get access to all the controls on the camera except for the thumb-wheel control on the back, but you can still do everything since you have the directional buttons to navigate the menu. It of course makes the whole camera bigger and heavier, but it doesn't really effect the usability or handling of the camera at all. I got this for taking diving and snorkeling, but after touching and handling it, I'm going to even use it on the beach too! Surprisingly, the case doesn't noticeably effect the image quality, as long as you use the included flash diffuser. Without it, the glare from the flash naturally goes everywhere, and looks horrible. It's hard to understand what it feels like to immerse your camera in water until you actually do it. Of course, I followed the instructions and tested the case by putting it in the sink for 3 minutes (without the camera inside). And though the case showed no evidence of leaks, this didn't stop me from wondering "will my camera still work at the end of the day?" as I stepped into the pool. It also didn't stop me from freaking out the first time the camera did an auto-shutoff. "Oh my god! Is it broken?" Of course, I'm just paranoid. The case does exactly what it says it does. A couple of small steel plates and a thumbscrew that serve the purpose and are necessary for UW use, but are remarkably expensive. Should be included with the housing.

The good: 2 GB card works fine. Landscape shots are not distorted and not off-color. Used it for a rafting trip, did not use it underwater. The eh: Used up the supplied alkalines in less than 6 hours. Now trying lithiums. The bad: There's no real zoom. The video size is tiny. The bottom line: We think this is a good camera that costs less than a decent waterproof case and takes digital pictures that are far superior to a disposable.

Well, SPK-HCD is the replacement for all The Waterproof Sports Pack for underwater, is the ONLY ONE SONY have available to purchase, so do not search for any of all the other "Camcorder Water Housing", if you do, this message is what you will find in THE SONY STORE: "This product is no longer available for purchase". The good new is the price, the bad one its only Depth up to 17 feet.

Recently purchased this housing in conjunction with Canon A720IS. The camera is a great inexpensive P&S. The housing worked well during a trip to Akumal, I do however have one suggestion/warning to potential buyers. In full sunlight, the lcd screen is almost impossible to see underwater, while wearing a mask. So you are pretty much shooting blind. If I was not, a former pro shooter, it would have been horrible results. I have seen comments that there is a shade available, this is not correct (yet) -I have contacted Canon and shades are NOT avaiable. I will be working on a modification for myself. I don't write many reviews, but I really wanted to for this wonderful little product. I just returned from Akumal, Mexico and loved having this cases with me for some great underwater pics. Sure, you can go out and buy one of those disposable underwater cameras...I used to. But, if you already have a Canon camera (which are really the best point and shoots out there imho), you'd be silly to not own one of their waterproof cases. I did have to guess at many of my shots, but I had to do that with the disposable cams too. I wish I would have thought to go into the camera's options and boost the lcd to 100% instead of the default 50%. That may well have helped me see the screen better.
