I have a Grand Wega TV with about 1 Billion hours on it, well not really but it has survived very well through 2 births and up to toddler years. The TV has taken some serious abuse. This is a replacement lamp for your rear projection LCD Television. If your led on the front goes red then it means its time for this replacement. I have no idea the number of hours I have on the original but I expect that the TV was used every day 10 hours plus for over 4 years. It has never skipped a beat. Yes this is NOT the cheapest part to replace but it is significantly less than a new Grand Vega television. This mount works once you've figured it out. Maybe a DVD or better "written" installation manual wouldn't hurt because it could take a while to figure this thing out from just looking at pictures and no written descriptions. I used this unit to mount my PANASONIC PT-AE2000U and it is steady. E-mail me if you have this projector and needs a picture of how I mounted it, I can send you some.

Ordered the product from Vann's ... the discounted price (40 less than the Sony store) more than made up for the cost of expedited shipping. Received it in 2 days. Took less than 10 min to install with no tools other than the included allen wrench. Some reviewers are right about the amount of force needed to get the panel off ... it's a little unnerving. The panel is plastic and snaps firmly into clips. I don't get the reviewers that are angry that the lamp needed replacing in the first place. The need for a new bulb every few years is a known issue with this type of TV. It was pretty inexpensive for a good quality HD TV, right? There's no free lunch!

This projection lamp worked perfectly. Replacement of the existing lamp assembly was very simple. However, I am looking into replacing only the bulb when this unit reaches the end of its life.

I've bought a pair of these lamps after the warning lights began blinking on some of the humidifiers we have at home - New York gets very dry in winter. The replacement process was very easy, and these new lights have been working fine ever since.

I use it to show movies from a projector connected to a PC. My Grandkids love to come over and watch movies. They think it is better than going to the theater because you don't get free popcorn, brownies and pop at the movies!!

I believe I received the wrong replacement lamp for the slide viewer I purchased. It has a small base (like a Christmas tree light) and looks nothing like the picture. The slide viewer works very well; however, it did not come with a lightbulb, so I had to go buy one from the store upon receiving the slide viewer. It would have been nice if the slide viewer would have said it didn't come with a bulb. Thanks.
