I believe I received the wrong replacement lamp for the slide viewer I purchased. It has a small base (like a Christmas tree light) and looks nothing like the picture. The slide viewer works very well; however, it did not come with a lightbulb, so I had to go buy one from the store upon receiving the slide viewer. It would have been nice if the slide viewer would have said it didn't come with a bulb. Thanks.

This product works very well. It saves on batterys, by the box full. It was a wise choice ! If you are thinking on buying do it as a package with a Pana-Vue, it is cheaper.

I bought this to help me with my christmas decor. I found the pictures that I wanted on the internet and then used the tracer to increase the size from 4 inches to 4 feet and trace the images onto coroplast. I worked very well. You can see the results for your self at my website... www.cereschristmastreelane.com/Coroplast.html I was surprised that it used a CFL. I thought that this was kinda nice since the heat produced by a CFL is much less than incandescent. But you must remember that the CFL when first turned on is fairly dim and takes a while to get to full brightness. Still, I found that I needed to get the ambient light down to a minimum in order to use this effectively.

This viewer works as advertised but I found the "pana-vue 2" (battery powered) more useful. With a stack of slides I rather not keep tipping my head-up to the light. That said though the "daylight" slide viewer offers a larger view (your eye goes up against the viewer) than the "pana-vue 2" and I say this results in a higher quality viewing. Final word is you cannot go wrong with either, just depends on the task at hand. Only a few slides I'd get the "daylight" viewer, if you have a stack I'd get the "pana-vue 2".
