As other reviewers have stated this tripod is definitely cheaply-made, and not very "solid" feeling. Nonetheless - it works, and should be adequate for those who only require use of a tripod every once in a while. I'm definitely happy with my purchase (it can be found cheaper elsewhere, i.e. online auction sites), and would only move on to something more expensive if I found myself actually using a tripod more than a few times a year.

The elevation control (the tilting controlled by the large twist handle, not the thing which raises or lowers the center column) is a little shaky - when you tighten the control to lock elevation in place it will always be off from where you aimed. Also, I wouldn't count on the levels for any serious work/projects. I've used this tripod for panoramas, but in order to get usable level shots I need to eyeball the center column and pan head for square a couple dozen times, adjust the legs accordingly. That's perfectly reasonable for a cheap (under $30) tripod. What's not reasonable is that after a dozen or so uses one of the leg latches broke and now I can't extend the middle section of the tripod. I expect better than that even for a toy tripod like this one.

It's easy to use, light weight to carry in and out with kids'. My 3-year old can help me to bring it into the car. He even help me to set the tripod up.

This item is functional, barely. It's OK for use with a lightweight camera and standard lens in horizontal position only. With a longer lens and/or vertical position this plastic unit feels underbuilt with a sagging problem in the vertical position. Spend a few bucks and get an all-metal Bogen product, you'll be happier.

At $25.00 this is a bargain. I have had no problems with its use, and have probably used the monopod section more than the full tripod. If you want perfection you will have to pay for it, but if you are looking for an inexpensive combo tripod and monopod to use infrequently, this is the way to go.

This tripod overall is very sturdy and solidly build. One of the good points of this tripod is its weight and solid build construction, very good rubber footing design that is better than some of the expensive products out in the market. The buble level indicator is also good to have. I purchased this tripod for my Canon 40D because I need something that wouldnt be blown off by the wind or if someone inadvertently bump into it and won't topple down so easily. Also I was looking for tripod that would hold a mid-size telephoto lens with the D40. Unfortunately, I had to return the product back to Amazon, because the pan handle was bent as you screw tighten the pan handle it becomes a little bit distracting of which I am not sure if its a design or manufacturing problem. When I ordered this tripod, I was hoping for one that would do double dudy as a still tripod and a video tripod for my miniDV camera. It works fine for still photography, but the handles are not long enough and the pan and tilt are no where near smooth enough for video work.

This product simply doesn't work. The spring loaded lever won't lock. The tripod slowly sinks with any weight at all on it. You can't tighten the sections enough to keep them extended. I wouldn't accept this if it was given to me for free!

its not great, but its cheap... you cant ask for much more than you pay for here, because it works.
