I needed a manual camera for my photography class. So I read other people's reviews and purchased this camera;it has been wonder-full. It is very good for a beginner like me to use and I have taken some great photos with it. I am enjoying it very much. One thing I was unclear on was that it had a "camera case" I thought that meant a bag that I could put other stuff besides my camera in; the case it comes in justs covers the camera. I just think it was a little unclear to an amature, but it has not been a problem. Thanks for the great camera I will come to this store for any other needs I have!

My V3800N was my very first camera purchased so that I could have a fully manual camera for my Photo 1 class. Although I haven't used it in a while, I still love my little Vivitar and have plans to take it back out again. It's solidly made with a great hand-feel. It's an excellent beginner's film camera. At at tasty price point, it's well worth the gamble because I promise it will pay off!

I have had this camera for over 7 years. I have taken it on countless trips to the beach, dropped it in foot deep snow twice, taken pictures in the rain, and left it in a closet with no dust protection for 6 months.....And even with all of this unintended abuse, it still works as perfectly as the day I bought it. It is a trustworthy camera that takes incredibly clear, colorful, and high quality photos. This camera has made me love photography and constantly strive for improvement. I highly recommend it.

This is a fun little camera, if you are shooting in daylight. Its fun to capture the frames of a fast moving object, but the intervals are almost too close together. Someone has to be running or jumping to get results you want.
The flash bothered me as well with this camera. I shot some with it at a small concert hall, I was maybe 8 ft. away from the performer, and the flash did not reach him. The shots I got with the flash were so dark, that facial features were un recognizable, and all that was seen was a little shine off the instruments, and the stage lights. I was shooting with ISO 400, so I expected to get a little more on the film.
If I had known these two things before, I probably wouldn't have purchased it. Go with a different lomo camera. I would.

My main point in writing this review is that you can get this camera for much, much cheaper by buying it used or elsewhere.

The Holga is fun and I know many people who swear by it. While I personally have never been extremely into lomography/"plastic fantastic" cameras, if you are this is a good camera and the advantage of using medium format film is wonderful. Also there are scores of websites that will tell you all the ways you can modify your Holga. So have fun! But seriously, there's almost no reason why not to buy this item used. I would not pay more than $20 for it.

Don't buy it. The camera is cheaply made- mine broke in about a week. It had trouble rewinding the film and the colored flash re-loader thingy broke as well. I'm going to buy a Holga instead and hopefully that will work out better. Trust me, this camera looks fun and easy to use but don't waste your money.
